Background: The diagnosis of the culprit allergen depends on exposure, symptoms at exposure, and the presence of specific IgE (sIgE). Pet allergens are sticky and can sensitize individuals without adoption history. Exclusive dog owners frequently exhibit both dog (e5) and cat dander sIgE (e1).

Objective: To assess the characteristics of total immunoglobulin E (IgE) and allergen-specific IgE (sIgE) to 20 common allergens in 154 patients with atopic dermatitis (AD). To assess the correlation of clinical food allergy with positive food allergens' sIgE results. We further discuss the significance of IgE as a potential biomarker for AD disease severity.

Background: While allergen-specific immunotherapy (AIT) is acknowledged as an effective treatment, its efficacy varies, and consensus on predictive indicators for AIT responders remains elusive.
Objective: This study aimed to identify alternative parameters for predicting AIT responders based on clinical data collected in daily practice.
Method: We conducted a retrospective analysis of patients with house-dust-mite-driven asthma and/or rhinitis who completed 3 years of subcutaneous AIT (3y-AIT).

Introduction: The meticulous management of risk factors is paramount in the effective control of allergic rhinitis (AR), playing a significant role in diminishing both the direct medical expenditures and the indirect economic impacts associated with the condition. Presently, there is a notable deficiency in research concerning the risk factors for severe AR, as well as the correlation between serum allergen-specific immunoglobulin E (sIgE) levels and the severity of AR symptoms.
Methods: The study utilized data from a cross-sectional epidemiological survey conducted in Guangzhou, China, from April 2023 to March 2024, involved 638 AR patients.

Background: Detecting drug-specific IgE (sIgE) is crucial for diagnosing immediate drug-induced hypersensitivity reactions. Basophil activation tests serve as a method to determine the presence of drug-sIgE, highlighting the importance of optimising the assay. Optimisation involves considering multiple factors to ensure sensitisation helps detect an antigen sIgE.
