Objective: The purpose of this study was to compare the quality of photographs obtained with 3 different cameras: iPhone, Samsung, and digital single-lens reflex (DSLR), as assessed by oral and maxillofacial surgeons (OMS).
Methods: This was an anonymous online survey study. The study population consisted of OMS in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Massachusetts who were members of their state societies. The primary outcome variable was ratings on the quality of extraoral and intraoral photographs obtained with 3 different cameras. The predictor variable was the type of camera used to obtain the photographs: iPhone, Samsung, and DSLR camera. Descriptive statistics were computed. Spearman test was utilized to analyze correlation between the outcome variables.
Results: The majority of respondents were from full time private practice (n = 84, 77.06%), followed by full time academia (n = 12, 11.01%). The Spearman test revealed negligible correlation between extraoral and intraoral photographs on the best quality rating (0.15, P = .13). Negligible correlation between extraoral and intraoral photographs were noted on the second best (0.15, P = .11), and least quality rating (0.09, P = .32).
Conclusion: Study results revealed that there is no difference between the quality of photographs obtained using smartphones, compared with the photographs obtained via a DSLR camera. Future discussions on an ideal application on smartphones would allow for consent and transfer of high-quality photographs via a secure messaging system between health care providers to address ethical concerns of confidentiality. Importance: As average life expectancy increases, the role of beauty in quality of life (QOL) becomes more important. Invasive rejuvenation methods, such as cosmetic surgery and botulinum toxin injections, do not address the underlying causes of facial aging, are expensive, and carry inherent risks. Acupuncture, as a holistic alternative, may offer a safer method for facial rejuvenation by addressing the overall health of the body.

Objective: Severe radiodermatitis with erosion is a painful condition that affects quality of life; therefore, developing methods for its prevention is an urgent issue. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the morphological characteristics of the development and healing processes of severe radiodermatitis in patients with head and neck cancer and to explore the association between skin barrier function and development of severe radiodermatitis.
Methods: In this prospective observational study, the cervical regions of patients with head and neck cancer who underwent radiotherapy at a university hospital from October 2022 to March 2023 were photographed, and morphological characteristics of the development and healing process of severe radiodermatitis were extracted using the qualitative sketch method.

Understanding normal structural and functional anatomy is critical for health professionals across various fields such as medicine, veterinary, and dental courses. The landscape of anatomical education has evolved tremendously due to several challenges and advancements in blended learning approaches, which have led to the adoption of the use of high-fidelity 3D digital models in anatomical education. Cost-effective methods such as photogrammetry, which creates digital 3D models from aligning 2D photographs, provide a viable alternative to expensive imaging techniques (i.
