The solvothermal synthesis of LnClnHO with terephthalic acid (benzene-1,4-dicarboxylic acid, HBDC) produced metal-organic frameworks (LnBDC), [Ln(BDC)(HO)], where Ln = Sm, Eu, Tb, and Dy. The materials obtained were characterized by a number of physico-chemical techniques. The influence of the ionic radius of the lanthanides on the microstructural characteristics of the Ln-MOFs was evaluated by performing Rietveld refinement. The MOFs obtained were tested as fluorescent sensors for numerous cations and anions in water. The highly luminescent EuBDC and TbBDC demonstrated multi-responsive luminescence sensing functions to detect Ag(I), Fe(III), Cr(III), and Cr(VI), which are essential for their environmental applications. By applying the non-linear Stern-Volmer equation, the fluorescent quenching mechanism was determined. The stability of the obtained materials in water in a wide pH range (acidity pH = 4 and alkalinity pH = 9 solutions) was confirmed.

The high thermal stability and chemical durability of amide-linked covalent organic frameworks (amide COFs) make them a promising material for a range of new applications. Nevertheless, the low reversibility of the amide bond presents a significant challenge to the direct synthesis of amide-bonded COFs. In this paper, we present a simple method for synthesizing amide COFs.

Organophosphate pesticides can cause long-term neurological damage to humans. There is an urgent need to develop a more sensitive and efficient method for detecting trace amounts of organophosphorus pesticides in orange juice, particularly in the presence of interfering substances. This study developed a dispersive solid-phase extraction (DSPE) method using amorphous UiO-66 (aUiO-66) as an adsorbent for the detection of four organophosphate pesticides (fenthion, profenofos, fensulfothion, and chlorpyrifos) in orange juice.

The leakage of Liquid scintillator exudates has brought potential harm to the environment. Attributed to the large specific surface area and high modifiability, high-performance adsorbents based on metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) can effectively remove organic pollutants. In this work, we use different functional groups to prepare the material of UIO-66(Zr).

Polymeric high internal phase emulsions decorated with covalent organic frameworks (polyHIPEs-COFs) were synthesized and used as the sorbent for cyantraniliprole and chlorantraniliprole. Pickering high internal phase emulsions stabilized by covalent organic frameworks solid particles and liquid surfactants (Span80 and polyvinylpyrrolidone) endow the composites with open-cell structures and superwettability. The amphiphilicity and open-cell structures enable rapid adsorption and desorption for cyantraniliprole and chlorantraniliprole, and the solid-phase extraction process can be completed in 5 min.

A HPU-23@Ru@Tb-NH sensor array with light-driven oxidase-mimicking activity and triple-emission fluorescence was developed. It was composed of a Tb-functionalized metal organic framework and Ru(bpy) and applied to the simultaneous detection of Hg, ClO, and PO via differently responsive channels. HPU-23@Ru@Tb-NH had a photoresponsive colorimetric response toward Hg with a LOD as low as 4.
