The thermal and optical properties of 60TeO-20KTeO-10WO-10NbO (in mol%) glasses doped with HoO, ErO, and TmO were explored in the present work. The thermal stability, refractive index n, extinction coefficient k, absorption coefficient α, and optical band gap of the glasses were evaluated. The UV-Vis-NIR absorption spectra, the Judd-Ofelt intensity parameter, the spectroscopic quality factor, and the emission and absorption cross-sections were calculated to investigate the effects of Er and Tm, respectively, on the band spectroscopic properties of Ho ions. The results showed that the maximum emission cross-section was approximately 8×10-21 cm2, and the values of the full width at half maximum (FWHM), quality factor (σe×FWHM), and gain coefficient of Ho: I→I were also reported. The value of the FWHM×σe was 1200×10-28 cm3, which showed greater gain characteristics than earlier study results. For 2 μm mid-infrared solid-state lasers, the glasses that were examined might be a good host material.

Olmesartan medoxomil (OLM) is the prodrug of olmesartan, an angiotensin II type 1 receptor blocker that has antihypertensive and antioxidant activities and renal protective properties. It exhibits low water solubility, which leads to poor bioavailability and limits its clinical potential. To improve the solubility of OLM, a host-guest inclusion complex (IC) between heptakis(2,6-di-O-methyl)-β-cyclodextrin (DMβCD) and the drug substance was obtained.

Hypertension affects 32% of adults worldwide, leading to a significant global consumption of cardiovascular medications. Atenolol, a β-adrenergic receptor blocker, is widely prescribed for cardiovascular diseases such as hypertension, angina pectoris, and myocardial infarction. According to the Biopharmaceutics Classification System (BCS), atenolol belongs to Class III, characterized by high solubility but low permeability.

The main purpose of this study is to prepare a melamine aniline formaldehyde foam, an MAF copolymer, with lower water sensitivity and non-flammability properties obtained by the condensation reaction of melamine, aniline, and formaldehyde. In addition, the preparation of MAFF composites with organoclay reinforcement was determined as a secondary target in order to obtain better mechanical strength, heat, and sound insulation properties. For the synthesis of foams, the microwave irradiation technique, which offers advantages such as faster reactions, high yields and purities, and reduced curing times, was used together with the heating technique and the effect of organoclay content on the structural and textural properties of foams and both heat insulation and mechanical stability was investigated.

Tungsten oxide (WO) electrochromic devices are obtaining increasing interest due to their color change and thermal regulation. However, most previous work focuses on the absorption or transmission spectra of materials, rather than the optical parameters evolution in full spectrum in the electrochromic processes. Herein, we developed a systematic protocol of ex situ methods to clarify the evolutions of subtle structure changes, Raman vibration modes, and optical parameters of WO thin films in electrochromic processes as stimulated by dosage-dependent Li insertion.
