Osteoporosis (OP) is a common disease in the elderly, characterized by decreased bone strength, reduced bone density, and increased fracture risk. There are two clinical types of osteoporosis: primary osteoporosis and secondary osteoporosis. The most common form is postmenopausal osteoporosis, which is caused by decreased estrogen production after menopause.

Although many existing studies have utilized the GLIM criteria to assess the association between malnutrition and malignant tumor patients, there remains relatively little research exploring the specific relationship between malnutrition and sarcopenia. This study aimed to investigate the correlation between malnutrition under the GLIM criteria and preoperative sarcopenia in patients with gastrointestinal malignancies.

The proliferation of health professions educator academies across Canada and the United States illustrates the value they hold for faculty and institutions. Yet, establishing and evaluating the efficacy of them through program evaluation can be challenging. Qualitative researchers have underscored the value and importance of being reflexive in the research process, yet existing guidelines or checklists on how to practically address reflexivity are often scant and scattered across studies. In this scholarly perspective, we review, analyse, and present an overview of conceptions of reflexivity. Further, we offer practical guidelines for addressing and developing reflexivity statements in qualitative research.
