Nearly 10%-15% patients with generalized myasthenia gravis (MG) have refractory disease and are candidates for newer nonconventional immunotherapies. Rituximab has emerged as an attractive option in them. We describe the efficacy and safety of rituximab in 12 patients with refractory MG treated over a period of 4 years in a tertiary care center.

Effective resuscitation of neonates with congenital heart disease (CHD) depends on comprehensive planning, thorough understanding of physiology, vigilant monitoring, and interdisciplinary collaboration to achieve the best outcomes. Neonatal heart disease can affect cardiac structure, rhythm, or ventricular function, and may be either congenital or acquired. Critical congenital heart disease (CCHD) can result in inadequate pulmonary blood flow, impaired intracardiac mixing, airway obstruction, or insufficient cardiac output.

Congenital heart disease (CHD) is the most commonly detected congenital anomaly and affects up to 1% of all live-born neonates. Current guidelines support the use of chromosomal microarray analysis (CMA) and next-generation sequencing (NGS) as diagnostic approaches to identify genetic causes. The aim of our study was to evaluate the diagnostic yield of CMA and NGS in a cohort of neonates with both isolated and syndromic CHD.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFBackground Pregnant women with primary Sjogren's syndrome (PSS) have a high incidence of maternal and fetal complications due to immunological variations caused by maternal antibodies (anti-Sjogren's-syndrome-related antigen A (SSA) and anti-anti-Sjogren's-syndrome-related antigen B (SSB) crossing the placenta from the 12th week of gestation, mediating the tissue damage. A multidisciplinary approach is required in the management of such patients. Data regarding the effects of PSS on pregnancy are deficient in the Indian context.
