A 59-year-old woman with recent history of weakness, loss of appetite, and significant weight loss was referred for malignancy workup. On the first day, the patient underwent a 99mTc-MDP scan, which revealed diffuse pulmonary uptake in both lungs. Two days later, 99mTc-FAPI scan was performed and showed diffuse pulmonary uptake in the planar and SPECT/CT images. The study present an interesting case demonstrating FAPI-ligand uptake in metastatic pulmonary calcification.

Patients who develop Ewing sarcoma with extra-pulmonary metastasis have a poor prognosis. A recent French protocol, CombinaiR3, was set up to evaluate the efficacy of induction chemotherapy followed by high-dose chemotherapy and metronomic maintenance treatment. It is now closed for inclusions and while waiting for the results, we propose a French consensus guideline for the management of patients diagnosed with Ewing sarcoma with extra-pulmonary dissemination.

Aims: Atrial fibrillation (AF) is a frequent comorbidity in heart failure (HF). We analysed factors associated with new-onset atrial fibrillation in patients with heart failure using linked real-world UK data from primary and secondary care, along with findings from genome-wide association studies.
Methods And Results: Among 163 174 participants with a diagnosis of HF (January 1998 to May 2016) from Clinical Practice Research Datalink (CPRD) and Hospital Episodes Statistics (HES), 111 595 participants had no previous history of AF (mean age 76.

Inhalation of elemental mercury is a rare cause of ARDS, with limited published case reports to provide guidance regarding disease progression and management. Although extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) has been used to treat toxin-induced lung injury, its application to initial treatment and long-term recovery for inhalation of mercury remains undescribed. We present a case of a 56-year-old man who works at a thermometer factory presenting with severe ARDS secondary to inhaled elemental mercury with confirmatory blood and urine mercury levels.

Background: The imperative need for early cancer detection, which is crucial for improved survival rates in many severe cancers such as lung cancer, remains challenging due to the lack of reliable early-diagnosis technologies and robust biomarkers. To address this gap, innovative screening platforms are essential to unveil the chemical signatures of lung cancer and its treatments. It is established that the oxidative tumor environment induces alterations in host metabolic processes and influences endogenous volatile synthesis.

Introduction: As the global population ages, the demand for surgical interventions in older adults is rising. Older patients face increased risks due to age-related physiological changes and comorbidities, making surgery and postoperative care challenging. This study aimed to assess short- and long-term mortality, as well as patient-centred outcomes such as days alive and at home 30 and 90 days after surgery, in patients aged ≥ 80 y undergoing surgical procedures.
