Background: Osteoarthritis (OA) is a global public health problem, and limited information is available on the effects of Cd on OA. The purpose of this study is to explore the relationship between Cd and OA.
Method: Weighted multivariable logistic regression model, trend test, restricted cubic spline, and stratified analysis were used to study the association between BCd and OA.
Results: In the two regression models of weighted multivariable logistic regression analysis, the correlation between BCd and OA was positive. Compared with the lowest quartile of BCd exposure, the highest quartile had a 2.03-fold (95% confidence interval, 1.67 to 2.47), displaying a dose-response relationship (P for trend <0.00001). The restrictive cubic spline shows a positive linear relationship between BCd and OA.
Conclusion: There was a positive linear relationship between BCd and OA and a dose-response relationship.

PNPLA3-I148M genotype is the strongest predictive single-nucleotide polymorphism for liver fat. We examine whether PNPLA3-I148M modifies associations between oxidative gaseous air pollutant exposure (O) with i) liver fat and ii) multi-omics profiles of miRNAs and metabolites linked to liver fat. Participants were 69 young adults (17-22 years) from the Meta-AIR cohort.

Background: Previous observational studies have suggested a potential association between heart rate variability (HRV) and cerebrovascular disease. However, a causal relationship between the two has not yet been established.
Aims: The objective of this study was to determine the causal relationship between heart rate variability (HRV) and stroke through a two-sample Mendelian randomization analysis.

Long-term fine particulate matter (PM) exposure was associated with childhood obesity. However, the key PM components and whether PM effect may vary by obesity type, growth stage, sex, and individual/family characteristics have yet been examined. In this study, we investigated 213,907 Chinese children and adolescents aged 3-18 years in 2017-2019.

Background: Selecting an appropriate cannula size is crucial for achieving an adequate extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) flow rate. However, the association between ECMO cannula size and the prognosis of patients with out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) has not been fully elucidated. We examined the associations between ECMO cannula size and neurological outcomes and survival at discharge in patients with OHCA who received ECMO.

Purpose: Initial recommendations for ECMO had relative contraindications for low birth weight (BW) or low gestational age (GA) babies. However, more recent literature has demonstrated improved and acceptable outcomes of ECMO in smaller neonates. The purpose of this study was to understand both utilization and survival in patients with lower GA and BW.
