Objective: Research has demonstrated that possesses various therapeutic benefits. This study set out to determine whether or not extracts had any effect on the ability of HepG2 and MCF-7 breast cancer cells to survive.

Materials And Methods: The antiproliferative activity of extracts was explored using 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide and lactate dehydrogenase assays. The most active fraction was selected to investigate its effects on apoptosis induction using flow cytometry and quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction. The constituents of this fraction were characterized using GC-MS analysis.

Results: Research demonstrated that the chloroform fraction of (LSCF) significantly impacted the HepG2 and MCF-7 cancer cell lines. Treatment with LSCF led to a notable rise in both early and late apoptotic cells. Furthermore, there was an upregulation in the mRNA levels of P53, Bax, and caspases, while the expression of Bcl-2 mRNA saw a decrease. The analysis of LSCF revealed the primary components to be cis-calamenene, beta-eudesmol, cyclododecane, and alpha-muurolene.

Conclusion: The study showed the promising antiproliferative activity of , suggesting its potential application for cancer treatment.

This study aimed to investigate the effect of tumor lysis syndrome (TLS) on the prognosis of children and adolescents with intermediate- or high-risk high-grade mature B-cell nonHodgkin lymphoma (HG B-NHL) . This study collected the clinical data and prognosis of 283 patients aged <18 years with newly diagnosed intermediate- or high-risk HG B-NHL treated at the Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center from January 2010 to December 2022. The clinical characteristics, laboratory indicators during TLS, and prognosis of the patients were analyzed.

The application of standardized criteria to evaluate treatment efficacy is crucial for guiding therapeutic decisions, assessing prognosis, and interpreting outcomes in treating multiple myeloma (MM). The unique characteristics of MM make its response assessment more complex compared with other malignancies. It primarily depends on serum and urine M protein levels, combined with the number of plasma cells in the bone marrow and comprehensive imaging findings.

Electronic address:

Muscular dystrophies are a group of heterogenic disorders characterized by progressive muscle weakness, the most common of them being Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD). Muscular dystrophies are caused by mutations in over 50 distinct genes, and many of them are caused by different genetic mechanisms. Currently, none of these diseases have a cure.

Department of Molecular, Cell, and Cancer Biology, University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School, Worcester, MA, USA. Electronic address:

Understanding the impact of senescence on disease is limited by the lack of tools to lineage label senescent cells. In a recent Cell issue, Zhao et al. create mouse models to genetically manipulate and trace p16 cells, identifying contrasting roles for senescent macrophages and endothelial cells (ECs) in liver fibrosis.
