Type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM) and congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH) are 2 complex endocrine disorders with neighboring genetic loci. We present a case of T1DM onset in a 6-year-old child, already affected by 21-hydroxylase deficiency (salt-wasting CAH) diagnosed at 18 days of age, who was referred to our clinic because of typical symptoms of diabetes despite nondiagnostic fasting blood glucose values. Further analysis revealed elevated glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c), low C-peptide, and specific autoantibodies suggesting the diagnosis of T1DM. Although he only started with rapid-acting insulin analogue before meals, he presented spontaneous episodes of hypoglycemia just before the morning hydrocortisone dose, due to an underdosed glucocorticoid intake. Based on continuous glycemic monitoring (CGM), his morning dose was increased and given earlier; then we decided to apply an advanced hybrid closed-loop insulin pump to maintain glycemic time in range above 70%. Fasting glucose in CAH patients can be lower due to underdosed glucocorticoid replacement therapy. HbA1c and CGM can help recognize T1DM onset and evaluate the correct dosage of corticosteroid therapy in CAH patients. New studies are needed to understand the therapeutic approach for a more specific treatment in case of coexistence of these diseases.

We examined if anxiety/depression, delay discounting (DD), and their interaction were associated with greater A1c levels and reduced medical adherence in adolescents with type 1 diabetes (T1D). Sixty-one adolescents with T1D completed a DD task and an A1c blood test. Adherence was assessed by self-monitoring of blood glucose (SMBG) using glucometer data.

Objective: The current study was conducted to investigate the effect of intermittent fasting (IF) with a low-carbohydrate-high-protein (LCHP) diet on blood glucose control in streptozotocin (STZ)-nicotinamide-induced type 2 diabetic rats (DR).
Methods: Thirty male Wistar rats were divided into six groups ( = 5) including a group of normal rats (NR) that received a control diet (CD) (50% carbohydrates, 17% protein, and 33% fat) with (AL) feeding. The remaining 5 groups were DR injected with STZ and fed on CD or LCHP diet (40% carbohydrates, 30% protein, and 30% fat) for 6 weeks, either AL or IF (with a time-restricted feeding of 16 h followed by 8 h feeding period).

Background: Complications of diabetes and its associated comorbidities can cause rapid progression of type II diabetes mellitus (T2DM). It comes at high costs and affects a patient's quality of life. We aim to assess T2DM in KSA, including the demographics, medications, complications, and comorbidities, as it remains an integral part of Vision 2030.

Purpose: To further identify the clinical impact of metformin on the prognosis of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) with type 2 diabetes who received immunotherapy.
Methods: Stage IV NSCLC patients with type 2 diabetes receiving the immunotherapy from 2017 to 2021 were retrospectively enrolled and divided into the metformin group or non-metformin group according to the treatment strategy for type 2 diabetes (metformin vs other hypoglycemic medicines). The overall response rate (ORR) was primary endpoint, and overall survival (OS), progression-free survival (PFS) and disease control rate (DCR) were secondary endpoints.
