Since around 2021, products claiming to contain a Δ-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) analog with different lengths of alkyl chain at C-3 position have been sold on the internet in Japan. Δ-THC has a pentyl group derived from the precursor olivetol at the C-3 position. These products include liquid cartridges for electronic cigarettes, herbal products, and gummy products. This study analyzed and determined the ingredients in five oil products distributed on the internet from 2022 to 2023 that claim to contain THC analogs. Samples of each product were used for GC-MS and LC-MS measurements. After isolating and purifying the unknown components from the products, structural analysis was performed by measuring H, C-NMR and various two-dimensional NMR [HH correlation spectroscopy (H-H COSY), heteronuclear multiple quantum coherence (HMQC), heteronuclear multiple-bond correlation (HMBC), and nuclear Overhauser effect spectroscopy (NOESY)]. The analysis identified Δ-tetrahydrocannabivarin (THCV), Δ-THCV, Δ-tetrahydrocannabutol (THCB), Δ-THCB, Δ-tetrahydrocannabihexol (THCH), Δ-THCH, Δ-3-octyl-THC (THCjd) and Δ-THCjd. These compounds were Δ-THC or Δ-THC analogs with different lengths of alkyl chain at C-3 position. Meanwhile, Δ-iso-THCV and Δ-THCB were identified as minor components of the product, and were considered to be the reaction byproducts of the synthesis of the Δ-THC or Δ-THC analogs. In the future, there are concerns about the distribution of products containing new THC analogs. Therefore, continuous provision monitoring of newly detected in the products is important.

The C type of dicotyledonous plants exhibit a higher density of reticulate veins than the C type, with a nearly 1:1 ratio of mesophyll cells (MCs) to bundle sheath cells (BSCs). To understand how this C-type cell pattern is formed, we identified two SCARECROW (SCR) genes in C Flaveria bidentis, FbSCR1 and FbSCR2, that fully or partially complement the endodermal cell layer-defective phenotype of Arabidopsis scr mutant. We then created FbSCRs promoter β-glucuronidase reporter (GUS) lines of F.

Flavonoids have been documented to have good antioxidant activities in vitro. In recent years, reports on the antioxidant activities of flavone glycosides, a subclass of flavonoids, have attracted great attention. Despite the wealth of information on this subject, the correlation between structure and function is not well understood.

Ursolic acid (3-hydroxy-urs-12-ene-28-oic acid, UA) is a pentacyclic triterpene present in numerous plants, fruits and herbs and exhibits various pharmacological effects. However, UA has limited clinical applicability since it is classified as BCS class IV molecule, characterized by low solubility, low oral bioavailability and low permeability. In the present study, UA was isolated from the biomass marc of Lavandula angustifolia and was structurally modified by an induction of indole ring at the C-3 position and amide group at the C-17 position with the aim to enhance its pharmacological potential.

Background: Sternoclavicular joint (SCJ) instability can lead to pain, reduced function, and an inability to perform sports and activities of daily living. Reconstruction of the SCJ using hamstring autograft in a figure-of-8 configuration has demonstrated good outcomes at short- and midterm follow-ups, but there is a paucity of literature on long-term outcomes.

Purpose: To evaluate the long-term clinical and functional outcomes after SCJ reconstruction, with a focus on return to sport, instability recurrence, and revision surgery.
