Atopic dermatitis (AD) or eczema is an important inflammatory chronic skin disease that brings many complications in its management and treatment. Although several chemical agents are used for treatment, the search for better anti-inflammatory and antibacterial agents of plant origin has been ongoing, since natural compounds, it is commonly believed, are less dangerous than synthetic ones. Therefore, the present study explored a medicinal plant- (L.

This study aimed to implement a targeted multiple reaction monitoring (MRM) screening strategy using liquid chromatography coupled with tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) for the initial detection of 165 compounds of emerging concern (CECs) in water, sediment, and fish samples. Following the screening, confirmatory and quantitative analyses were conducted using analytical standards for the detected compounds. Qualitative results were confirmed using high-resolution mass spectrometry (HRMS) for those CECs without available standards.

Aims: With the growing evidence of cardiovascular risks associated with diclofenac use, regulatory measures governing its application and sales have intensified since 2008. We evaluated the association between central regulatory actions and trends in diclofenac use in Denmark from 1999 to 2023, according to different dosage forms and routes of administration.

Methods And Results: Data on diclofenac sales in Denmark from 1999 to 2023 were retrieved from the publicly available web database MEDSTAT, based on the Danish Register of Medicinal Products Statistics.

This study extends a previously developed competitive modeling approach for predicting the adsorption of organic micropollutants (OMPs) on powdered activated carbon (PAC) in full-scale advanced wastewater treatment. The approach incorporates adsorption analysis for organic matter fractionation, assumes pseudo-first order kinetics and differentiates between fresh and partially loaded PAC through fraction segregation. Validation through full-scale measurement campaigns reveals successful model predictions of OMP removal, underestimating, however, diclofenac removals by 15-20%.

Background: With the help of an evidence-based approach called "Enhanced Recovery After Surgery" (ERAS), patients can receive standardised perioperative care and recover more quickly. Many surgical specialities, such as orthopaedics, gynaecological onco-surgery, breast surgery, urology, and colorectal surgery, use ERAS protocols extensively. Improved postoperative recovery is beneficial in lowering hospital stays, and costs, and increasing patient satisfaction.
