Toxicologic Pathology Forum: Opinion on Digital Primary Read and Peer Review-Are We There Yet?

Toxicol Pathol

January 2025

Greenfield Pathology Services, Inc., Greenfield, Indiana, USA.

Recent trends in toxicological pathology include implementation of digital platforms that have gained rapid momentum in the field. Are we ready to fully implement this new modality? This opinion piece provides some practical perspectives on digital pathology such as its cost limitations, relative time requirements, and a few technical issues, some of which are encountered for specific lesions, that warrant caution. Biological invasions are a major threat to biodiversity, ecosystem functioning and nature's contributions to people worldwide. However, the effectiveness of invasive alien species (IAS) management measures and the progress toward achieving biodiversity targets remain uncertain due to limited and nonuniform data availability. Management success is usually assessed at a local level and documented in technical reports, often written in languages other than English, which makes such data notoriously difficult to collect at large geographic scales.

KEAP1 mutations as key crucial prognostic biomarkers for resistance to KRAS-G12C inhibitors.

J Transl Med

January 2025

Department of Medical Oncology, National Cancer Center/National Clinical Research Center for Cancer/Cancer Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and Peking Union Medical College, Beijing, 100021, China.

Background: KRAS-G12C inhibitors mark a notable advancement in targeted cancer therapies, yet identifying predictive biomarkers for treatment efficacy and resistance remains essential for optimizing clinical outcomes.

Methods: This systematic meta-analysis synthesized studies available through September 2024 across PubMed, Cochrane Library, SpringerLink, and Embase. Using CRISPR/Cas9 technology, this study generated cells with KEAP1 and STK11 knockouts, and utilized lentiviral vectors to overexpress PD-L1.
