The forehead is the cranial part of the forehead, and represents an important component of facial esthetics. The deformations linked to craniosynostoses are characterized by modifications in height, width, and angulation. Their surgical correction during childhood is based on well-established techniques of remodeling using resorbable osteosynthesis. Today, distraction and springs allow less invasive procedures with good outcomes. Sequellae mainly correspond to hypotrophies of the temporal region, corrected with fat grafting. The presence of a mutation increases the risk of reoperation in the first six years of life.

Introduction: Mucopolysaccharidosis type VI (MPSVI), an autosomal recessive lysosomal storage disorder caused by pathogenic variants in gene. Usually, whole exome sequencing (WES) can identify these variants, and if WES failed to detect causative variants, whole-genome sequencing (WGS) may be considered to investigate deep intronic variations and structural alterations in patients.
Methods: Whole-exome sequencing (WES) and whole genome sequencing (WGS) were performed in a Chinese family having a boy with suspected diagnosis of MPS with macrocephaly, coarse facial features, broad forehead, thick lips, frontal bossing, craniosynostosis, blue spots, frequent upper respiratory infections, inguinal hernia, and dysostosis multiplex.

A five-year-old female came with a history of frequent rubbing of the right eye and noticed prolonged elevation of her head since birth, informed by her mother. On ocular examination, the best corrected visual acuity shown in the right eye was 1/60, and the left eye was 6/6, with proptosis in both eyes. Fundus examination showed both eyes having pale discs.

Introduction: Fronto-orbital remodelling for metopic synostosis is an extensive operation with substantial blood loss, particularly from emissary veins in the glabellar region. One possibility to reduce blood loss may be to stage dissection and cauterise anomalous emissary veins before dissecting in the subperiostal plane.
