Despite a decade of extensive research and clinical insights, percutaneous coronary intervention strategies for coronary bifurcation lesions have remained a challenging and highly debated area. This article presents a review of the latest findings and advances in defining and classifying coronary bifurcation lesions, studies, intracoronary imaging, stenting strategies, and the deployment of drug-coated balloons. Based on current evidence, this review provides recommendations for interventional cardiologists to develop individualized interventional strategies and enhance the efficiency of stenting procedures.

Foam cell formation is a hallmark of atherosclerosis, yet the cellular complexity within foam cells in human plaques remains unexplored. Here, we integrate published single-cell RNA-sequencing, spatial transcriptomic, and chromatin accessibility sequencing datasets of human atherosclerotic lesions across eight distinct studies. Through this large-scale integration of patient-derived information, we identified foamy macrophages enriched for genes characteristic of the foamy signature.

Carotid body tumors (CBTs), rare neuroendocrine neoplasms near the carotid bifurcation, are mostly asymptomatic but may cause discomfort and autonomic dysfunction. Computed tomography angiography (CTA) is used for diagnosis, eliminating the need for a biopsy to avoid the risk of hemorrhage. Surgical excision is the preferred treatment, while radiotherapy is an option when surgery is impractical.

Aim: To investigate the relationship between epicardial adipose tissue (EAT) and myocardial strain and the severity of coronary artery disease (CAD), and to evaluate the predictive value of EAT parameters in early left ventricular (LV) diastolic dysfunction.
Materials And Methods: One hundred seventy patients with suspected CAD who underwent both coronary computed tomography angiography and echocardiography were enrolled in 2020. LV global strains were calculated using commercial software.
Coronary anatomy governs local haemodynamics associated with atherosclerotic development, progression and ultimately adverse clinical outcomes. However, lack of large sample size studies and methods to link adverse haemodynamics to anatomical information has hindered meaningful insights to date. The Left Main coronary bifurcations of 127 patients with suspected coronary artery disease in the absence of significant stenosis were segmented from CTCA images before computing the local haemodynamics.

To improve outcomes after Impella-supported HR-PCI, institutional Impella programs have been developed.
Objectives: We evaluated the association between the standardized periprocedural management algorithm and outcomes of patients undergoing HR-PCI in the national IMPELLA-PL Registry.
