This article describes the abundance of phytoplankton community structures in Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan and Pulau Tinggi, Johor during the Southwest and Northeast Monsoons and includes data from 48 selected sampling sites collected between July and December 2023. The seawater samples from 1-meter depth were obtained by using a Niskin water sampler, concentrated in a 50 ml centrifuge tube and immediately preserved with Lugol's iodine solution. The data include phytoplankton density (cell L), the total density of phytoplankton in each station, and the total number of genera obtained in every station. Additional data are presented, including chlorophyll-a concentration, as a proxy for biomass and photosynthetic active radiation. This article presents data on 30 genera, including unidentified genera, as well as the percentage of the main community group.

Mold defects pose a significant risk to the preservation of valuable fine art paintings, typically arising from fungal growth in humid environments. This paper presents a novel approach for detecting and categorizing mold defects in fine art paintings. The technique leverages a feature extraction method called Derivative Level Thresholding to pinpoint suspicious regions within an image.

In human activity-recognition scenarios, including head and entire body pose and orientations, recognizing the pose and direction of a pedestrian is considered a complex problem. A person may be traveling in one sideway while focusing his attention on another side. It is occasionally desirable to analyze such orientation estimates using computer-vision tools for automated analysis of pedestrian behavior and intention.

Advances in next-generation sequencing technology have enabled the high-throughput profiling of metagenomes and accelerated microbiome studies. Recently, there has been a rise in quantitative studies that aim to decipher the microbiome co-occurrence network and its underlying community structure based on metagenomic sequence data. Uncovering the complex microbiome community structure is essential to understanding the role of the microbiome in disease progression and susceptibility.

Species belonging to the Pezizales are mainly saprobes in nature. They are most commonly observed in woodlands and humid environments. As a result of recent research conducted on the distribution of species in sandy areas and some National Forests Parks, five new species belonging to three genera were identified.
