: Partially thrombosed aneurysms represent a subset primarily found within large and giant aneurysms. The presence of an intraluminal thrombus can cause an aneurysm to present in different shapes upon angiographic examination. We present a series of five cases of "donut-shaped" aneurysms observed over the past decade at the Clinic for Neurosurgery in the University Clinical Centre of Serbia. : The management of "donut-shaped" aneurysms was accomplished through endovascular interventions, employing techniques such as the deployment of flow-diverting stents or a combination of stent placement and coil embolization. : Four out of five patients underwent endovascular treatment, yielding positive outcomes with complete thrombosis of the aneurysms during follow-up. The fifth patient was successfully diagnosed; however, due to their deteriorating condition, treatment was not feasible. : Given the potential life-threatening complications associated with this entity, accurate diagnosis and appropriate management are crucial. In our cohort, endovascular interventions demonstrated efficacy in the majority of cases, underscoring the significance of this approach in treating "donut-shaped" aneurysms. Nevertheless, considering the rarity of this condition, further research is justified to refine diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for these complex intracranial vascular anomalies.

Intracranial aneurysms are uncommon in the pediatric population. We present a case of an 11-year-old boy presenting with subarachnoid hemorrhage caused by a "donut-shaped" basilar tip aneurysm. It occurs when the flow geometry produces a circumferential laminar flow into the aneurysmal sac, resulting in a central thrombosis.

Objectives: Photon-counting detector computed tomography (PCD-CT) is a promising new technique for CT imaging. The aim of the present study was the in vitro comparison of coil-related artifacts in PCD-CT and conventional energy-integrating detector CT (EID-CT) using a comparable standard brain imaging protocol before and after metal artifact reduction (MAR).

Methods: A nidus-shaped rubber latex, resembling an aneurysm of the cerebral arteries, was filled with neurovascular platinum coils and inserted into a brain imaging phantom.

Background: Giant partially thrombosed aneurysms are challenging lesions for which treatment can be difficult due to their unfavourable anatomical configuration and abnormal flow conditions.

Case Description: The patient presented in this report suffered from a symptomatic giant partially thrombosed donut-shaped aneurysm of the left-sided supraophthalmic internal carotid artery. Due to the location and the size of the aneurysm, endovascular treatment was performed.

Background: We describe the case of a 62-year-old woman who was admitted to our center for acute diplopia secondary to a left III cranial nerve palsy, left eyelid swelling and ptosis, and mild ipsilateral retroorbital pain. No other motor or sensitive deficits were observed.

Case Description: Computed tomography angiography and digital subtraction angiography were performed, showing a 25-mm left intracavernous aneurysm with a central intrasaccular thrombus, an intrasaccular "swirling" flow with a donut-shape appearance.
