As healthcare depends on health information technology, there is a growing need for Health Informatics competencies in daily practice. This review aimed to explore how the teaching of education in HI has been arranged. 28 publications, published in English between 2016 and 2020 and obtained from selected bibliographic databases, were reviewed. The data was analyzed using deductive content analysis with the following pre-formulated topics: . The results highlight three key competencies: documentation and communication, management, and understanding of health information technology. It underlines a blended teaching method to improve the competencies of healthcare professionals, graduates, undergraduates, and suggests adding active interactions, multi-professional interactions, and hands-on skills. This study highlights the importance of adapting to changes in healthcare, improving HI competencies in healthcare, and fostering positive digital experiences. It underlined the need for practical training, in theory and hands-on sessions, including key competencies in documentation and communication, management and health information systems.

Background And Objectives: Radical prostatectomy is a standard treatment for prostate cancer, yet about 30% of patients experience rising biochemical markers within a decade post-surgery. Pelvic lymph node sampling during prostatectomy assesses potential lymph node metastases, but standard histological assessments, which typically examine only 2-3 tissue sections, often miss occult metastases. This study assesses the effectiveness of qPCR in detecting PSA coding KLK3 mRNA for identifying lymph node metastases post-prostatectomy and explores the correlation between PSA-mRNA and biochemical recurrence.

Reproducibility in untargeted metabolomics data processing remains a significant challenge due to software limitations and the complex series of steps required. To address these issues, we developed Nextflow4MS-DIAL, a reproducible workflow for liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) metabolomics data processing, validated with publicly available data from MetaboLights (MTBLS733). Nextflow4MS-DIAL automates LC-MS data processing to minimize human errors from manual data handling.

Large-scale and detailed analyses of activity in the United States (US) remain limited. In this work, we leveraged the comprehensive wearable, demographic, and survey data from the All of Us Research Program, the largest and most diverse population health study in the US to date, to apply and extend the previous global findings on activity inequality within the context of the US. We found that daily steps differed by sex at birth, age, body characteristics, geography, and built environment.

This study developed a prognostic model for patients with colon adenocarcinoma (COAD) based on glycosylation-associated genes. By analyzing TCGA-COAD data, 110 key genes were identified, and a prognostic model incorporating five glycosylation-related genes was constructed. The model exhibits good predictive performance and is significantly associated with clinical features such as age, N stage, M stage, and lymph node count.
