Background: Falls are a source of harm, repeat emergency department visits and hospital admission for older adults. Undertaking a comprehensive geriatric screening including falls-risk is recommended in guidelines for optimal older adult emergency department care.

Methods: A pragmatic prospective cohort study was undertaken to evaluate use of further falls-risk screening in older adults in a large tertiary Australian hospital emergency department.

Aims: Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) is a rare autoimmune-mediated disease that can occur in a post-vaccination context. During the vaccination surveillance program of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) vaccines, reports of GBS as a possible adverse effect (AE) of SARS-CoV-2 vaccines have been reported. Our aim was to describe post-vaccine reports of GBS whatever the vaccine used.

Background: Online educational programs focused on ways to improve brain health could increase participant literacy, empowerment, and engagement in activities that support personal brain health, potentially reducing dementia risk.

Objectives: Our goal was to develop an evidence-based online educational program with a focus on risk and protective factors for dementia. Here we present the rationale and features of the program and include results from a pilot study that assessed usability and acceptability.
