Extraosseous MDP uptake was not uncommon on the bone scintigraphy. When the extraosseous activity is overlapping the bones, it might cause difficulty in interpreting the result when only static images were acquired. Here we report 2 cases that abnormal MDP activity overlapping the bones on planar images, which were confirmed as soft tissue lesions by SPECT/CT or CT imaging.

Adaptive or non-adaptive? Cranial evolution in a radiation of miniaturized day geckos.

BMC Ecol Evol

Lygodactylus geckos represent a well-documented radiation of miniaturized lizards with diverse life-history traits that are widely distributed in Africa, Madagascar, and South America. The group has diversified into numerous species with high levels of morphological similarity. The evolutionary processes underlying such diversification remain enigmatic, because species live in different ecological biomes, ecoregions and microhabitats, while suggesting strikingly high levels of homoplasy.

Congenital radioulnar synostosis (CRUS) presents a complex forearm deformity, requiring precise osteotomy planning for anatomical restoration. This study proposes an automatic osteotomy preoperative planning method for forearms with CRUS. Proximal forearm bones are first aligned with the template forearm and then a dual dimensional optimization (DDO) strategy is used to optimize the spatial transformation parameters of the distal fragment.

Background: The inferior alveolar canal (IAC) is a fundamental mandibular structure. It is important to conduct a precise pre-surgical evaluation of the IAC to prevent complications. Recently, the use of artificial intelligence (AI) has demonstrated potential as a valuable tool for dentists, particularly in the field of oral and maxillofacial radiology.

Skeletochronology and growth dynamics are intensively investigated in vertebrate osteohistology. These techniques are particularly important for interpreting the life history of long-lived species, such as crocodilians. To understand the longevity, growth dynamics, sexual maturity, and sexual dimorphism of caimans we studied an almost complete ontogenetic series of captive and wild specimens of Caiman latirostris from different localities of Argentina.

Unlabelled: To date, the optimal therapeutic and diagnostic strategy in patients with simultaneous clinical manifestations of degenerative cervical spine disease and upper-extremity nerve compression is still unclear.

Objective: To analyze the results of simultaneous surgical interventions in patients with cervical radiculopathy combined with distal peripheral compression-induced ischemic neuropathy.

Material And Methods: We retrospectively studied postoperative outcomes in 23 patients with two-level degenerative cervical spine disease with radiculopathy and peripheral nerve compression (cubital canal, Guyon's canal or carpal tunnel syndromes).
