The ethanolic (80 %), methanolic (80 %) and aqueous decoction (100 % distilled water) of whole plant of Linn (Indian Sorrel) was evaluated for its anti-microbial and antioxidant properties by methods. Methanolic (80 %) and ethanolic (80 %) decoctions showed significant antibacterial property against , , and bacterial strains. In comparison to Chloramphenicol (C30) against bacteria, 80 % ethanolic decoctions showed significant effect, among the decoctions. Nowadays though the standard soap is in huge demand but it's also facing major backlash due to the presence of synthetic compounds in it, which over long use may cause harmful effects on the skin health. Therefore, the organic soaps which are made up of natural ingredients, herbs or any sort Ayurvedic compound have fewer side effects on the human skin and are much safer than standard daily soap. The formulated therapeutic soap exhibits a significant amount of reducing potential (high FRAP and TAC values) and antioxidant activity (DPPH, ABTS assay).

Although men have historically exhibited higher levels of alcohol use disorder (AUD) diagnosis, the gap between men and women has been diminishing quickly. Preclinical screening for pharmacological treatments for AUD has typically focused solely on males, ignoring the possibility that males and females may differ mechanistically for the same behavioral phenotype. To ensure the efficacy of treatment targets across the sexes, it is crucial to study the pharmacological effects of AUD treatments in males and females.

From Extractables to Exposure Data: Sensitivity Analysis of Extrapolation Algorithms with Focus on USP 〈665〉.

Eur J Pharm Sci

January 2025

Sartorius Stedim Biotech GmbH, August-Spindler-Straße 11, 37079 Göttingen ,Germany.

We evaluated algorithms designed to extrapolate extractables data for predicting process equipment-related leachables (PERLs) and assessing PERL exposure in single-use systems (SUSs) and their assemblies. The robustness and sensitivity of these algorithms were tested against variations in input data, including extrapolation algorithms for both short and long contact time extractables data obtained from the standardized extractables protocol provided in USP 〈665〉. Our findings demonstrate that extrapolated data for SUS and assemblies are suitable for safety assessments.

Efficient luminescent solar concentrators based on solvent polarity induced multiple-colored carbon dots.

J Colloid Interface Sci

State Key Laboratory of Bio-Fibers and Eco-Textiles, Qingdao University, No. 308 Ningxia Road, Qingdao 266071 PR China. Electronic address:

Luminescent solar concentrators (LSCs) are large scale sunlight collector and can be used for building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV). Achieving high-performance LSCs requires fluorophores with broad absorption, high quantum yield and a large Stokes shift. Nevertheless, conventional high-efficiency LSCs typically rely on heavy metal-based quantum dots as fluorophores.

The influence of additives and modifiers on the chiral HPLC separation of the nicotine enantiomers using UV/Vis detection is discussed. Selected alcohols as modifiers and selected amines as additives were found to have a significant effect on the resolution and retention times of nicotine enantiomers even to the point of eliminating component elution. Systematic variations in the concentration of ethanol, methanol, and isopropanol, as modifiers, along with variations in the concentration of diethylamine, triethylamine, tributylamine, ethylenediamine, isopropylamine, as additives, revealed that the average resolution (R) of the nicotine enantiomers ranged from 2.

January 2025

Key Laboratory of High-efficiency and Clean Mechanical Manufacture (Ministry of Education), National Demonstration Center for Experimental Mechanical Engineering Education (Shandong University), School of Mechanical Engineering, Shandong University, Jinan, 250061, People's Republic of China.

The supercritical antisolvent (SAS) method can effectively improve the bioavailability of poorly water-soluble drugs. However, the current supercritical equipment and processes were not fully developed, making industrialization difficult to achieve. Therefore, an externally adjustable annular gap nozzle and its supporting equipment were designed.
