In the field of quantum materials, understanding anomalous behavior under charge degrees of freedom through bond formation is of fundamental importance, with two key concepts: Dimerization and charge order at different cation sites. The coexistence of both dimerization and charge ordering is unusually found in NaRu2O4, even in its metallic state at room temperature. Our work unveils the origin of the interplay of these effects within metallic single-crystalline NaRu2O4.

Background: Streptomyces roseochromogenes NRRL 3504 produces clorobiocin, an aminocoumarin antibiotic that inhibits DNA replication. No other natural products have been isolated from this bacterium so far, despite the presence of a rich repertoire of specialized metabolite biosynthesis gene clusters (smBGCs) within its genome. Heterologous expression of smBGCs in suitable chassis speeds up the discovery of the natural products hidden behind these sets of genes.

Janustatin A is a potently cytotoxic polyketide alkaloid produced at trace amounts by the marine bacterial plant symbiont . Its biosynthetic terminus features an unusual pyridine-containing bicyclic system of unclear origin, in which polyketide and amino acid extension units appear reversed compared to the order of enzymatic modules in the polyketide synthase (PKS)-nonribosomal peptide synthetase (NRPS) assembly line. To elucidate unknown steps in heterocycle formation, we first established robust genome engineering tools in .

Mollusca is the second most species-rich animal phylum, but the pathways of early molluscan evolution have long been controversial. Modern faunas retain only a fraction of the past forms in this hyperdiverse and long-lived group. Recent analyses have consistently recovered a fundamental split into two sister clades, Conchifera (including gastropods, bivalves and cephalopods) and Aculifera, comprising Polyplacophora ('chitons') and Aplacophora.

Introduction: Segmental Odontomaxillary Dysplasia (SOD) is a non-hereditary, unilateral developmental anomaly recently included in the WHO's classification of head and neck tumors.
Case Presentation: Here, we report the case of an 8-year-old boy presenting with unilateral maxillary enlargement and pain without facial asymmetry. Computed tomography revealed a hypodense area in the maxillary bone with altered bone structure and osseous expansion.
