Transcriptome of Anaplastic Thyroid Cancer Reveals Two Molecular Subtypes with Distinct Tumor Microenvironment and Prognosis.

January 2025

Department of Molecular Medicine and Biopharmaceutical Sciences, Graduate School of Convergence Science and Technology, Seoul National University, Gwanak-gu, Republic of Korea.

Although patients with anaplastic thyroid cancer (ATC) generally have a poor prognosis and there are currently no effective treatment options, survival and response to therapy vary between patients. Genomic and transcriptomic profiles of ATC have been reported; however, a comprehensive study of the tumor microenvironment (TME) of ATC is still lacking. This study aimed to elucidate the TME characteristics associated with ATC and their prognostic implications.

Tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) are a protective prognostic factor in several solid tumors and predict response to immune checkpoint inhibitor therapy. The prognostic impact of TILs in medullary thyroid cancer (MTC) is poorly understood. In this retrospective cohort study, we assessed the TILs profile of primary MTC tumors using the International TILs Working Group system and correlated this with clinicopathological prognostic variables, including the International Medullary Thyroid Cancer Grading System (IMTCGS) grade and survival outcomes.

Background: Reduced expression of thyroid hormone receptors (TRs) has been observed in various human malignancies, though its predictive value in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) remains uncertain.

Objective: To explore the predictive value of TRs in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma.

Design: The design was bioinformatic analysis combined with experimental study.

Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics, West China Second Hospital, Sichuan University, Chengdu, People's Republic of China.

Background: In 2013, The Cancer Genome Atlas Research Network suggested that endometrial carcinoma patients may be reclassified into four molecular prognostic groups.

Objective: To compare survival of endometrial carcinoma patients with different mutational profiles.

Search Strategy: Studies reporting survival of endometrial carcinoma patients were identified through systematic searches of four databases.

Grading systems and perineural invasion in oral squamous cell carcinoma - a disease-specific survival analysis.

Med Oral Patol Oral Cir Bucal

January 2025

Department of Oral Diagnosis, Piracicaba Dental School University of Campinas, 901, Limeira Avenue Postcode: 13414-903. Piracicaba-SP, Brazil

Background: Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) is an aggressive cancer, with prognosis influenced by clinical variables as well grading systems and perineural invasion (PNI), which are associated to poorer outcomes, including higher rates of recurrence and metastasis. This study aims to evaluate OSCC using three grading systems and assess the impact of PNI and clinicopathologic parameters on patient survival.

Material And Methods: Eighty-one primary OSCC samples were analyzed.
