Background: Over the past decades, the prevalence of obesity among adults has rapidly increased, particularly in socioeconomically deprived urban neighbourhoods. To better understand the complex mechanisms behind this trend, we created a system map exposing the underlying system driving obesity prevalence in socioeconomically deprived urban neighbourhoods over the last three decades in the Netherlands.

Methods: We conducted Group Model Building (GMB) sessions with a group of thirteen interdisciplinary experts to develop a Causal Loop Diagram (CLD) of the obesogenic system.

Obesity can change the immune microenvironment of adipose tissue and induce inflammation. This study is dedicated to exploring the internal mechanism by which different intensities of exercise reprogram the immune microenvironment of epididymal adipose tissue in nutritionally obese mice. C57BL/6J male obese mouse models were constructed by high-fat diet, which were respectively obese control group (OC), moderate intensity continuous exercise group (HF-M), high intensity continuous exercise group (HF-H) and high intensity intermittent exercise group (HF-T).

Background: Hemophilic arthritis (HA) is associated with significant changes in the morphology of mature knee joints due to abnormal growth plate development. Previous studies have established marked distinctions between the femur and tibia of subjects with Haemophilia and those with osteoarthritis (OA). This study explored the morphological characteristics of the patella and patellofemoral joint in subjects with Haemophilia.

Unlabelled: Methamphetamine (MA) abuse is increasing worldwide, and evidence indicates that MA causes degraded cognitive functions such as executive function, attention, and flexibility. Recent studies have shown that regular physical exercise can ameliorate the disturbed functions. However, the potential functional network alterations resulting from physical exercise have not been extensively studied in female MA users.

Program of Minimally Invasive Thoracic Surgery and New Technologies, Policlinic Hospital, Department of Surgery and Medical Specialties, University of Catania, Catania, Italy.

Volume reduction is a disease-modifying treatment that aims to reshape the diseased lung towards a more normal total lung capacity by removing severely damaged and overinflated lung parenchyma. It is an effective therapeutic strategy in well-selected patients, resulting in improvements in exercise tolerance, lung function, quality of life and survival. The most widespread strategies for volume reduction are either video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery or bronchoscopic lung volume reduction.
