Analysis of Autonomous Penetration Testing Through Reinforcement Learning and Recommender Systems.

Sensors (Basel)

January 2025

Group of Analysis, Security and Systems (GASS), Department of Software Engineering and Artificial Intelligence (DISIA), Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering, Office 431, Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM), Calle Profesor José García Santesmases, 9, Ciudad Universitaria, 28040 Madrid, Spain.

Conducting penetration testing (pentesting) in cybersecurity is a crucial turning point for identifying vulnerabilities within the framework of Information Technology (IT), where real malicious offensive behavior is simulated to identify potential weaknesses and strengthen preventive controls. Given the complexity of the tests, time constraints, and the specialized level of expertise required for pentesting, analysis and exploitation tools are commonly used. Although useful, these tools often introduce uncertainty in findings, resulting in high rates of false positives.

Data-Efficient Bone Segmentation Using Feature Pyramid- Based SegFormer.

Sensors (Basel)

December 2024

Master's Program in Information and Computer Science, Doshisha University, Kyoto 610-0394, Japan.

The semantic segmentation of bone structures demands pixel-level classification accuracy to create reliable bone models for diagnosis. While Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) are commonly used for segmentation, they often struggle with complex shapes due to their focus on texture features and limited ability to incorporate positional information. As orthopedic surgery increasingly requires precise automatic diagnosis, we explored SegFormer, an enhanced Vision Transformer model that better handles spatial awareness in segmentation tasks.

Spontaneous coronary artery dissection is a rare cause of unstable angina, myocardial infarction, and sudden cardiac death, particularly among young women and individuals without conventional atherosclerotic risk factors. We present the case of a 43-year-old woman who had spontaneous coronary artery dissection involving the left main with extension to left anterior descending artery and left circumflex artery. She was ultimately managed medically, with a good outcome.

Parthenium weed ( L.) is one of the most noxious and fast-spreading invasive alien species, posing a major threat to ecosystems, agriculture, and public health worldwide. Mechanistic and correlative species distribution models are commonly employed to determine the potential habitat suitability of parthenium weed.
