Rotaviruses, non-enveloped viruses with a double-stranded RNA genome, are the leading etiological pathogen of acute gastroenteritis in young children and animals. The P[11] genotype of rotaviruses exhibits a tropism for neonates. In the present study, a binding assay using synthetic oligosaccharides demonstrated that the VP8* protein of P[11] porcine rotavirus (PRV) strain 4555 binds to lacto-N-neotetraose (LNnT) with the sequence Galβ1,4-GlcNAcβ1,3-Galβ1,4-Glc, one of the core parts of histo-blood group antigen (HBGA) and milk glycans.

Quorum sensing (QS) also known as bacterial cell-cell communication or bacterial crosstalk is a phenomenon regulating various bacterial traits that can affect plant growth and defence. Similarities in the structure of root exudates and bacterial signalling molecules have tremendous implications governing the plant heath. The rhizosphere ecosystem being an excellent example of plant-microbe and microbe-microbe interactions harbours a variety of microorganisms exhibiting quorum sensing.

Immune-mediated inflammatory diseases (IMIDs) are characterized by dysregulated immune responses and chronic tissue inflammation. In the setting of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), dipeptidyl peptidase 4 (DPP4) and gut microorganisms have been proved to interplay, potentially influenced by dietary factors. This rapid review aimed to study the DPP4-gut microbiome link in IBD.

Japanese encephalitis virus (JEV) genotype IV (GIV) is one of the least common and most neglected genotypes worldwide, having been identified only on a few Indonesian islands until it was recently found to be the cause of outbreaks that occurred in several Australian states in early 2022. Given the limited availability of information, the vector range for JEV GIV remains unknown; thus, understanding this range could prove invaluable for future prevention efforts in new areas. Herein, we experimentally exposed four mosquito colonies originated from various countries with no previous reports of GIV to JEV GIV strain 19CxBa-83-Cv, which was isolated from Theobald collected in Bali in 2019.

In this editorial, we comment on Liu s article published in the recent issue of the . Biochemically and pathologically, Liu proved that the urate-lowering activity of leech total protein (LTP) was mainly attributed to the rectification of gut microbiota. Specifically, we noticed the change in and after LTP administration.
