Prcis: We report a case of a 62-year-old male patient who developed a wipe-out phenomenon after uncomplicated gonioscopy-assisted transluminal trabeculotomy combined with cataract surgery.
Abstract: A 62-year-old male patient with a diagnosis of pseudo-exfoliation and open angle glaucoma underwent uncomplicated gonioscopy-assisted transluminal trabeculotomy (GATT) combined with phacoemulsification surgery due to advanced glaucomatous damage and high intraocular pressure. Postoperative decrease in visual acuity and central visual field deterioration suggested a wipe-out phenomenon. Although the wipe-out phenomenon has been reported after other surgeries in patients with advanced glaucoma, as far as we know, this is the first report of a wipe-out phenomenon secondary to GATT combined with phacoemulsification surgery. This complication, which can lead to severe vision loss, should be considered before the surgical decision.

Purpose: To assess the incidence and cause of idiopathic, irreversible loss of vision ("wipe-out") in the early post-operative period after glaucoma-filtration surgery in advanced glaucoma.
Methods: It was a prospective, interventional cohort study. Patients with advanced glaucoma and macular split fixation underwent either only trabeculectomy (group A) or combined phaco-emulsification with trabeculectomy (group B).

Objectives: The purpose of the study was to evaluate the sudden visual loss and central 10-degree visual field (VF) change following glaucoma surgery in eyes with severe and end-stage glaucoma.
Methods: This was a single-center retrospective study. The charts of patients with severe and end-stage glaucoma who had undergone trabeculectomy and Ahmed glaucoma valve (AGV) implantation surgery were reviewed.

Cataract extraction has become a much safer procedure with the development of phacoemulsification, extending its application in ocular conditions such as glaucoma for better disease control. This review aims at summarizing the effect of lens extraction with or without combined glaucoma surgeries in different types of glaucoma and describing the intraoperative techniques and changes of glaucoma care postoperatively. A comprehensive literature search was performed through Medline and PubMed, and 67 studies were selected for this review.

Introduction: There is uncertainty regarding the outcomes of glaucoma surgery for patients with advanced glaucoma, because it may be associated with the «wipe out» phenomenon. The aim of this study was to evaluate the outcome of surgical treatment in advanced glaucoma.
Methods: This retrospective study included 67eyes of 49 patients with end-stage glaucoma in which glaucoma surgery was carried out.
