Background: Socioeconomic status has been recognized as a crucial social determinant of health influencing patient outcomes. Area Deprivation Index (ADI) is a validated measure of an area's socioeconomic status. Limited data exists on the impact of ADI and clinical outcomes and complications following rotator cuff repair (RCR).

Background: High-quality estimates of the epidemiology of the autism spectrum and the health needs of autistic people are necessary for service planners and resource allocators. Here we present the global prevalence and health burden of autism spectrum disorder from the Global Burden of Diseases, Injuries, and Risk Factors Study (GBD) 2021 following improvements to the epidemiological data and burden estimation methods.
Methods: For GBD 2021, a systematic literature review involving searches in PubMed, Embase, PsycINFO, the Global Health Data Exchange, and consultation with experts identified data on the epidemiology of autism spectrum disorder.

Introduction: Combined anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and meniscal tear patterns and their effect on knee stability have been widely researched, however, their evolution and repairability from time of injury have been scarcely addressed. When addressed with delay, meniscal lesions associated with ACL tears may increase in severity and irreparability. This study aims to investigate the incidence, rate and pattern of meniscus tears in the context of ACL deficient knees and to assess the meniscal condition in early versus late ACL reconstruction (ACLR).

Background: There is inconsistent evidence suggesting that people with chronic low back pain may differ in variability of repeated trunk movements compared to people without chronic low back pain. These inconsistencies may be due to low reliability and task dependence of movement variability measures, which can be addressed using multiple movement tasks and summary measures.
Methods: Participants with and without chronic low back pain were recruited.
Infectious Agents and Cancer journal has recently launched a new collection of papers about "Point-of-Care (POC) for HPV-related genital cancers" putting together some interesting works on the accuracy of HPV tests for screening. This editorial initiative gave us the opportunity to reflect on the relations between accuracy measures, prevalence and characteristics of the tested population in the case of HPV-based screening. In screening test evaluation, we look at the clinical accuracy of the test as an intrinsic characteristic of the assay, which interacts with the characteristics of the population, the result being the screening performance.
