Purpose: Toxoplasmosis is a worldwide widespread parasitic infection; it affects about 30% of the global population, either through acute toxoplasmosis or its sequels. Even though the male reproductive system is not the primary target for Toxoplasma gondii (T. gondii), studies have inquired into the possibility of presenting repercussions in this system directly or indirectly due to toxoplasmosis.

The cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) is a cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP)-regulated chloride and bicarbonate ion channel found in many human cells. Its unique biochemical characteristics and role as a member of the adenosine triphosphate (ATP)-binding cassette transporters superfamily are pivotal for the transport of several substrates across cellular membranes. Objectives: According to French recommendations, only the caryotype is carried out as a first line in candidates for gamete donation.
