Tremors are a common reason for neurology consultations and can sometimes be a diagnostic challenge. One of the most common causes is essential tremor, which needs to be distinguished from other types of tremors, such as those found in Parkinson's disease, cerebellar disease or dystonic tremor. This categorisation is important as their treatment and prognosis differ.

Background And Purpose: Essential tremor with a midline distribution (Mid-ET) may represent a distinct subtype of essential tremor (ET) that primarily affects midline structures, often indicating advanced disease stage and increased severity. Recent studies have highlighted the complexity of Mid-ET, but research on neurological soft signs (NSS) in Mid-ET remains insufficient.
Methods: The patients with ET included in this cross-sectional study were divided into two subgroups based on whether or not the ET had a midline distribution: Mid-ET and No-Mid-ET.

Background: Essential tremor (ET) presents therapeutic challenges as oral therapies, are often partially effective and carry adverse effects. Deep Brain Stimulation and High-intensity Focused Ultrasound targeting the ventral intermediate thalamic nucleus show efficacy in managing ET; however, their cost and invasiveness deter some patients. Botulinum toxin infiltrations for ET in the upper limbs have been limited by adverse effects.

Introduction: Magnetic resonance-guided focused ultrasound (MRgFUS) is well-established for the treatment of essential tremor and is emerging as a promising non-incisional treatment for Parkinson's disease (PD). However, its safety in this context is not well established.
Methods: We performed a systematic review and meta-analysis to evaluate the incidence of adverse events among patients with medication-refractory PD treated with MRgFUS.

Background: Essential tremor (ET) is a common neurological disorder that significantly impacts daily activities. This meta-analysis aims to evaluate the safety and efficacy of cerebellar repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS) and cerebellar Theta Burst Stimulation (TBS) in treating ET.
Methods: We searched through June 14, 2024, four databases (Scopus, PubMed, Web of Science, and Cochrane CENTRAL) to identify clinical trials investigating cerebellar rTMS or TBS in ET patients.
