A 48-year-old male with a history of hyperlipidemia presented to the emergency department with chest pain. Electrocardiographic abnormalities indicated an acute coronary syndrome. Urgent coronary angiography revealed nondominant right coronary artery (RCA) occlusion.

In patients with chronic inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), endoscopic techniques (including capsule techniques and balloon enteroscopy for the small intestine), ultrasound (US), computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) are primarily used as often complementary imaging techniques. Radiation exposure needs to be kept in mind when using CT and conventional X‑ray-techniques. Therefore, most importantly, ultrasound and MRI have changed the routine diagnostics of intestinal diseases.

Background: Endovascular therapy is an effective method for revascularization in lower extremity artery disease, but treating chronic total occlusion (CTO) remains challenging. This is particularly true for patients with severe calcification, poor run-off in below-the-knee arteries, or limited access sites, where even guidewire (GW) passage can be difficult and bidirectional approaches are often not feasible. The tip-detection (TD) method has been reported as a useful technique in coronary artery CTO interventions, allowing real-time visualization of the GW tip direction.

Contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) is a medical imaging technique that offers multiple advantages over other modalities such as computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). These advantages include portability, no ionising radiation and no renal toxicity, with the great advantage of real-time imaging. CEUS has numerous established applications for the study of different pathologies, both intravenous and intracavitary administration.

Acoustic waves provide a biocompatible and deep-tissue-penetrating tool suitable for contactless manipulation in in vivo environments. Despite the prevalence of dynamic fluids within the body, previous studies have primarily focused on static fluids, and manipulatable agents in dynamic fluids are limited to gaseous core-shell particles. However, these gas-filled particles face challenges in fast-flow manipulation, complex setups, design versatility, and practical medical imaging, underscoring the need for effective alternatives.
