Cardiovascular-Kidney-Metabolic syndrome, introduced by the American Heart Association in 2023, represents a complex and interconnected spectrum of diseases driven by shared pathophysiological mechanisms. However, this framework notably excludes the liver-an organ fundamental to metabolic regulation. Building on this concept, Cardiovascular-Renal-Hepatic-Metabolic (CRHM) syndrome incorporates the liver's pivotal role in this interconnected disease spectrum, particularly through its involvement via metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD).

Diabetic cardiomyopathy (DCM) represents a significant health burden, exacerbated by the global increase in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). This condition contributes substantially to the morbidity and mortality associated with diabetes, primarily through myocardial dysfunction independent of coronary artery disease. Current treatment strategies focus on managing symptoms rather than targeting the underlying pathophysiological mechanisms, highlighting a critical need for specific therapeutic interventions.

Aims: Data on the early use of sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 inhibitors (SGLT2i) in patients with acute heart failure (HF) are conflicting, and mostly evaluating soft endpoints (i.e., indices of congestion, renal function, ejection fraction, and diuresis).

Diabetes mellitus, characterized by high blood glucose due to inadequate insulin action, comprises two main types: type 1, an autoimmune disease, and type 2, marked by insulin resistance. This review provides a comprehensive overview of diabetes management and treatment advancements. Effective diabetes management includes maintaining blood glucose levels within normal ranges and monitoring HbA1c, a marker reflecting average glucose levels over the past few months.

Background And Aim: Sodium-glucose cotransporter two inhibitors can reduce cardiovascular events by modulating lipid profiles in patients with heart failure, irrespective of diabetes status. In this study, we aimed to assess the effects of SGLT-2 inhibitors on the lipid profiles of patients with heart failure via a meta-analysis.
Methods: The PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar databases were searched up to 2023 to retrieve relevant article titles, abstracts, and full texts.
