Background And Aims: Fire-released seed dormancy (SD) is a key trait for successful germination and plant persistence in many fire-prone ecosystems. Many local studies have shown that fire-released SD depends on heat and exposure time, dose of smoke-derived compounds, SD class, plant lineage and the fire regime. However, a global quantitative analysis of fire-released SD is lacking.

Petroleum hydrocarbon pollutants in soil are challenging to biodegrade, negatively impacting plant growth as well as the metabolic activity and community structure of soil microorganisms. Microorganisms immobilized by seed carriers can synergistically contribute to the remediation of petroleum hydrocarbon-contaminated soil. We prepared a rape seed carrier with immobilized microorganism by seed coating (with a mixture of diatomaceous earth and bentonite as fillers) and microbial immobilization.

Background: Cryoablation (cryo) is a local anti-tumor method and activation of immunity is one of its mechanisms, but it is affected by many factors. Numerous studies have proved that combination therapy based on cryo can activate immunity more effectively and synergistically. Cryo combined with chemotherapy(chemo) has been proven to improve the quality of life and prolong survival of tumor patients, but the immune effect is still unclear.

Background: Low back pain (LBP) is predominantly caused by degeneration of the intervertebral disc (IVD) and central nucleus pulposus (NP) region. Conservative treatments fail to restore disc function, motivating the exploration of nucleic acid therapies, such as the use of microRNAs (miRNAs). miRNAs have the potential to modulate expression of discogenic factors, while silencing the catabolic cascade associated with degeneration.

Background: Photothermal therapy (PTT) is one of the effective and non-invasive strategies which hold great promise for improving the treatment of cancer cells. PTT is based on activating a photosensitizer by infrared light irradiation and producing heat and reactive species and apoptosis in the tumor area.
Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of photothermal/chemotherapy on melanoma cancer cells using poly (2-amino phenol)/gold (P2AO/AuNPs) and doxorubicin (DOX).
