Objective: The objective of this study was to assess the complicated relationship between frailty, perioperative complications, and patient-reported outcomes (PROs) in elderly patients (≥ 75 years old) undergoing lumbar spine fusion (LSF).
Methods: Consecutive patients who underwent LSF between March 2019 and December 2021 were recruited in this study. Frail patients (modified frailty index [mFI] score ≥ 2) were propensity score matched to nonfrail patients (mFI score 0-1) on the basis of age, sex, and the number of fused levels.

Background: Survival after transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) has markedly increased. Thus, other comorbidities will intersect patient trajectories and challenge follow-up.
Objectives: The aim of this study was to describe patient characteristics and hospitalizations at end of life to further improve the quality of life for patients undergoing TAVR.

Objectives: Malnutrition is generally studied to be involved in outlining hazard frailty trajectories, resulting in adverse outcomes. In view of frailty's multidimensional nature, we aimed to assess the contribution of nutritional items in existing frailty tools to adverse outcomes, and develop and validate a nutritional frailty phenotype based on machine learning.
Design: A population-based prospective cohort study.

Background: Intervening to modify frailty trajectories may be critical to maintain health and independence in later life. The Active Ageing Programme (AAP) is a 16-week community-based intervention for older people with mild frailty that combines physical activity and social interaction. The programme aims to positively impact resilience and wellbeing, changing the physical, mental and social factors that impact on frailty trajectories.

The population of older adults is exponentially expanding. Alongside aging comes the onset of chronic disease, decline of functional capacity, and reduced quality of life. Thus, this population increase will stress the capacity and financial viability of health and long-term care systems.
