Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are a part of a cell-to-cell communication system of prokaryotic and eukaryotic organisms. Their ability to penetrate biological barriers and to transfer molecules between cells shows their potential as a novel class of drug delivery platform. However, because of the great heterogeneity of EVs and the complexity of biological matrices from which they are typically isolated, reliable quality control procedures need to be established to ensure their safety for medical use.

Topological quantum materials hold great promise for future technological applications. Their unique electronic properties, such as protected surface states and exotic quasi-particles, offer opportunities for designing novel electronic and spintronics devices and allow quantum information processing. The origin of the interplay between various electronic orders in topological quantum materials, such as superconductivity and magnetism, remains unclear, particularly whether these electronic orders cooperate, compete, or simply coexist.

The rise of Personal Light Electric Vehicles (PLEVs), including electric bicycles and electric kick scooters, represents a relevant trend in current urban mobility. PLEVs offer economic, social, and environmental advantages, making them increasingly attractive for short-distance travel. Despite their benefits, concerns about the safety of PLEVs, particularly related to road accidents, have arisen due to their growing presence in urban areas.

Background: Patients in many underserved geographies lack access to invasive coronary angiography (ICA).
Objectives: This preclinical study explored the feasibility of telerobotic ICA between separate continents.
Methods: Using a novel robotic system, attempts were made to navigate a magnetic guidewire and diagnostic catheter from the aortic arch into a target coronary artery ostium in a fluid-filled cardiac model.

In polymer science and technology, the distinction between thermoplastic and thermosetting materials has always been sharp, clear, and well-documented: indeed, the former can theoretically be reprocessed a potentially infinite number of times by heating, forming, and subsequent cooling. This cannot be done in the case of thermosetting polymers due to the presence of cross-links that covalently bind the macromolecular chains, giving rise to insoluble and infusible polymeric networks. In 2011, the discovery of vitrimers revolutionized the classification mentioned above, demonstrating the possibility of using new materials that consist of covalent adaptable networks (CANs): this way, they can change their topology through thermally-activated bond-exchange reactions.
