Objective: Our objective of this study was to analyse all oncological clinical trials using regorafenib to create a complete risk/benefit profile for the drug.

Background: Creating a novel chemotherapy is costly both in time and capital spent for drug manufacturers. To regenerate what they've spent, drug manufacturers may attempt to repurpose their medications for new indications via clinical trials.

The amino acid permease contributes to tomato growth and salt tolerance by mediating branched-chain amino acid transport.

Hortic Res

January 2025

National Key Laboratory for Tropical Crop Breeding, School of Breeding and Multiplication Sanya Institute of Breeding and Multiplication, Hainan University, Sanya 572025, China.

Branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs) are essential amino acids in tomato () required for protein synthesis, which also modulate growth and abiotic stress responses. To date, little is known about their uptake and transport in tomato especially under abiotic stress. Here, the tomato () gene was identified as an amino acid transporter that restored mutant yeast cell growth on media with a variety of amino acids, including BCAAs.

Effect of halo-tolerance gene Hal5 on ethanol tolerance of .

BBA Adv

October 2024

Department of Biochemistry, Panjab University, Chandigarh 160014, India.

Hal5 gene is involved in halo-tolerance of during high salt stress. Ethanol stress and high salt stress have similarities, as both decrease the availability of water for cells and strain the osmotic homeostasis across the cell membrane. The Hal5 over-expression strain of yeast has more ethanol tolerance, but the Hal5 null mutant strain also has more ethanol tolerance than the wild-type strain.

Whole genome sequencing revealed high occurrence of antimicrobial resistance genes in bacteria isolated from poultry manure.

Int J Antimicrob Agents

January 2025

Department of Botany, Institute of Science, Banaras Hindu, University, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, 221005, India. Electronic address:

Global demand for food has driven expansion and intensification of livestock production, particularly in developing nations where antibiotic use is often routine. Waste from poultry production, including manure, is commonly utilized as fertilizers in agroecosystems, risking environmental contamination with potentially zoonotic bacteria and antimicrobial resistance genes (ARGs). Here, 33 bacterial isolates were recovered from broiler (n=17) and layer (n=16) chicken manure by aerobic culture using Luria Bertani agar.

This study was conducted at 112 government and Juntendo University hospitals in February 2021 for the primary series of SARS-CoV-2 vaccinations. We compared the timing of solicited adverse event (AE) onset and prevalence of unsolicited AEs for Pfizer, Moderna, and AstraZeneca vaccines in a nationwide, large-scale prospective cohort study. The Pfizer and Moderna mRNA vaccines were associated with a higher frequency of fever after the second dose than after the first dose.
