Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor γ (PPARγ) belongs to the nuclear receptor superfamily and is involved in the inflammatory process. Previously, we synthesized the ligands of PPARγ that possess the hybrid structure of a food-derived cinnamic acid derivative (CA) and GW9662, an irreversible PPARγ antagonist. These ligands activate the transcription of PPARγ through the covalent bond formation with the Cys285 residue of PPARγ, whereas their anti-inflammatory effect has not been examined yet. Here, we show the anti-inflammatory effect of the covalent PPARγ ligands in RAW264 cells, murine macrophage-like cells. GW9662 suppressed the production of nitric oxide (NO) stimulated by lipopolysaccharide and exerted a synergistic effect in combination with CA. The compounds bearing their hybrid structure dramatically inhibited NO production and transcription of proinflammatory cytokines. A comparison study suggested that the 2-chloro-5-nitrobenzoyl group of the ligands is important for anti-inflammation. Furthermore, we synthesized an alkyne-tagged analogue that becomes an activity-based probe for future mechanistic study.

Addressing the issue of excessive manual intervention in discharging fermented grains from underground tanks in traditional brewing technology, this paper proposes an intelligent grains-out strategy based on a multi-degree-of-freedom hybrid robot. The robot's structure and control system are introduced, along with analyses of kinematics solutions for its parallel components and end-effector speeds. According to its structural characteristics and working conditions, a visual-perception-based motion control method of discharging fermented grains is determined.

In this study, we describe a low-noise complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) image sensor (CIS) with a 10/11-bit hybrid single-slope analog-to-digital converter (SS-ADC). The proposed hybrid SS-ADC provides a resolution of 11 bits in low-light and 10 bits in high-light. To this end, in the low-light section, the digital-correlated double sampling method using a double data rate structure was used to obtain a noise performance similar to that of the 11-bit SS-ADC under low-light conditions, while maintaining linear in-out characteristics.

In order to achieve infrared aircraft detection under interference conditions, this paper proposes an infrared aircraft detection algorithm based on high-resolution feature-enhanced semantic segmentation network. Firstly, the designed location attention mechanism is utilized to enhance the current-level feature map by obtaining correlation weights between pixels at different positions. Then, it is fused with the high-level feature map rich in semantic features to construct a location attention feature fusion network, thereby enhancing the representation capability of target features.

The significance of this paper is an investigation into the design, development, and optimization of a new polymeric hybrid auxetic structure by additive manufacturing (AM). This work will introduce an innovative class of polymeric hybrid auxetic structure by the integration of an arrow-head unit cell into a missing rib unit cell, which will be fabricated using fused filament fabrication (FFF) technique, that is, one subset of AM. The auxetic performance of the structure is validated through the measurement of its negative Poisson's ratio, confirming its potential for enhanced energy absorption.

In this study, epoxy-based composites were fabricated using a layer-by-layer assembly technique, and their mechanical properties were systematically evaluated. The inclusion of cellulose nanocrystals led to variations in the mechanical properties of the composites. These modified properties were assessed through tensile and flexural tests, with each layer cast to enhance strength.
