Purpose: Symptom management in Ocular Cicatricial Pemphigoid (OCP) is challenging because of the progressive factors of dry eye, scarring, trichiasis, and vision impairment. We set out to evaluate the benefits and therapeutic effects of scleral contact lenses in the management of OCP.
Methods: A retrospective review was performed over a database of 20 patients (36 eyes) fitted with scleral lenses (SL) at the Department of Ophthalmology, Emory University from May 2018 to April 2021.

Estimation of the postmortem interval (PMI) is highly significant, and many estimation methods have been developed. However, as no estimation method is determinate, several methods must be combined to achieve an accurate estimation. Therefore, the more methods available, the more accurate the estimation.

Our study aimed to investigate the factors associated with residual cavernous sinus extra-axial cavernous hemangiomas (ECHs) progression after surgery. This retrospective study consecutively included patients of cavernous sinus ECHs with incomplete lesion resection from February 2012 to January 2024. The progression of the lesions was defined as new lesions or a growth of residual lesion (≥ 10% increase in volume).

Purpose: Treatment strategies for space-occupying/symptomatic pineal cysts (PC) are still up for debate. In this study we present PC management, outcome data and risk factors for recurrence after surgery, focusing on microscopic/endoscopic procedures vs. stereotactic catheter implantation as alternative treatment concept to permanently drain PC into ventricles/cisterns.

Purpose: The loss of synaptic vesicle glycoprotein 2 A (SV2A) can lead to dysfunction of GABAergic neurons, but a direct comparison of SV2A and GABA receptor densities in humans has not been assessed. This study evaluated SV2A and GABA receptor abnormalities in patients with drug-resistant epilepsy (DRE) and compared the patterns to glucose hypometabolism.
Methods: Eleven patients with DRE were retrospectively recruited and underwent PET imaging with [F]fluorodeoxyglucose ([F]FDG), [F]Flumazenil (FMZ), and [F]SynVesT-1.
