Introduction: ChatGPT has been increasingly utilized to create, simplify, and revise hand surgery patient education materials. While significant research has examined the quality and readability of ChatGPT-derived hand surgery patient education, the patient perspective has not previously been evaluated. This study compared patient reported clarity and readability grades as well as patient preferences for carpal tunnel surgery educational information from medical education websites and ChatGPT.

The twenty-first century has witnessed seven human viral pandemics. Approximately once every three to four years over the past quarter-century, the world has experienced a new viral epidemic that expanded well beyond its original national borders to become a pandemic. The probability that another pandemic caused by a previously unknown agent will occur in the near future is thus very high and public health agencies must prioritize mechanisms for detecting their first signals.

Background/objectives: Child acute malnutrition is a global public health problem, affecting 45 million children under 5 years of age. The World Health Organization recommends monitoring weight gain weekly as an indicator of the correct treatment. However, simplified protocols that do not record the weight and base diagnosis and follow-up in arm circumference at discharge are being tested in emergency settings.

Background: In 2021, there were approximately 450,000 cases of drug-resistant tuberculosis (DR-TB) worldwide. The treatment of DR-TB historically included expensive and toxic injectable drugs leading to adverse effects including ototoxicity and Electrocardiogram (ECG) abnormalities. This study described the perspectives of healthcare providers and people with DR-TB on the usability of simplified audiometry and ECG for monitoring treatment adverse effects.

Introduction: This study compared treatment with biologic agents and Janus kinase inhibitors (JAKi) in combination with methotrexate (MTX) for rheumatoid arthritis (RA) in a real-world setting at a large center in Poland. There is a persistent shortage of such studies, and illustrating the switching of medications in search of a suitable way of treatment for a given patient is a crucial step towards future personalized therapy.
