Traditional cognitive assessments in schizophrenia are time-consuming and necessitate specialized training, making routine evaluation challenging. To overcome these limitations, this study investigates the feasibility and advantages of utilizing smartphone-based assessments to capture both cognitive functioning and digital phenotyping data and compare these results to gold standard measures. We conducted a secondary analysis of data from 76 individuals with schizophrenia, who were recruited across three sites (one in Boston, two in India) was conducted. The open-source mindLAMP smartphone app captured digital phenotyping data and Trails A/B assessments of attention / memory for up to 12 months. The smartphone-cognitive tasks exhibited potential for normal distribution and these scores showed small but significant correlations with the results from the Brief Assessment of Cognition in Schizophrenia, especially the digital span and symbol coding tasks (r2 = 0.21). A small but significant correlation (r2 = 0.29) between smartphone-derived cognitive scores and health-related behaviors such as sleep duration patterns was observed. Smartphone-based cognitive assessments show promise as cross-cultural tools that can capture relevant data on momentary states among individuals with schizophrenia. Cognitive results related to sleep suggest functional applications to digital phenotyping data, and the potential of this multimodal data approach in research.

The Houge type of X-linked syndromic intellectual developmental disorder (MRXSHG) encompasses a spectrum of neurodevelopmental disorders characterized by intellectual disability (ID), language/speech delay, attention issues, and epilepsy. These conditions arise from hemizygous or heterozygous deletions, along with point mutations, affecting CNKSR2, a gene located at Xp22.12.

A novel bacteria strain, designated YIM B02787, was isolated from rhizosphere soil of Ageratina adenophora, in Yunnan, southwest China. The strain was aerobic, Gram-stain-negative, rod-shaped and motile with one polar flagellum. Growth occurred at 4-45 °C (optimum, 20-30 °C) and pH 6.

Psychiatric disorders are influenced by genetic and environmental factors. However, their study is hindered by limitations on precisely characterizing human behavior. New technologies such as wearable sensors show promise in surmounting these limitations in that they measure heterogeneous behavior in a quantitative and unbiased fashion.

Objectives: This study aimed to determine the genetic and environmental contributions to phenotypic variations of palatal morphology during development.
Methods: Longitudinal three-dimensional digital maxillary dental casts of 228 twin pairs (104 monozygotic and 124 dizygotic) at primary, mixed, and permanent dentition stages were included in this study. Landmarks were placed on the casts along the midpoints of the dento-gingival junction on the palatal side of each tooth and the mid-palatine raphe using MeshLab.

The selection and promotion of high-yielding and nitrogen-efficient wheat varieties can reduce nitrogen fertilizer application while ensuring wheat yield and quality and contribute to the sustainable development of agriculture; thus, the mining and localization of nitrogen use efficiency (NUE) genes is particularly important, but the localization of NUE genes requires a large amount of phenotypic data support. In view of this, we propose the use of low-altitude aerial photography to acquire field images at a large scale, generate 3-dimensional (3D) point clouds and multispectral images of wheat plots, propose a wheat 3D plot segmentation dataset, quantify the plot canopy height via combination with PointNet++, and generate 4 nitrogen utilization-related vegetation indices via index calculations. Six height-related and 24 vegetation-index-related dynamic digital phenotypes were extracted from the digital phenotypes collected at different time points and fitted to generate dynamic curves.
