Transformation chemistry of atomically precise metal nanoclusters has emerged as a novel strategy for fundamental research on the structure-property correlations of nanomaterials. However, a thorough understanding of the transformation mechanism is indeed necessary to understand the structural growth patterns and corresponding property evolutions in nanoclusters. Herein, we present the ligand-exchange-induced transformation of the [Au(SR)] (8e) nanocluster to the [Au(SR')] (8e) nanocluster, through the Au(SR) (6e) intermediate species. Identification of this key intermediate through a partially reversible transformation helped in a detailed investigation into the transformation mechanism with atomic precision. Moreover, photophysical studies carried out on this Au(SR) species, which only differs by a single ligand from that of the [Au(SR)] nanocluster reveal the property evolutions at the slightest change in the nanocluster structure.

Inflammatory bone resorption represents a pathological condition marked by an increase in bone loss, commonly associated with chronic inflammatory conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis and periodontitis. Current therapies primarily focus on anti-inflammatory drugs and bisphosphonates; however, these treatments are limited due to side effects, inadequate efficacy, and unpredictable long-term complications. Kurarinone (KR), a bioactive compound isolated from the traditional Chinese herb Sophora flavescens, exhibits a range of biological activities, including anti-inflammatory, anticancer, and cardiovascular protective effects.

Objective: Aberrant 6-phosphofructo-2kinase/fructose-2,6-bisphoshatase 3 (PFKFB3) expression is tightly correlated with multiple steps of tumorigenesis; however, the pathological significance of PFKFB3 in macrophages in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) remains obscure. In this study, we examined whether PFKFB3 modulates macrophage activation and promotes RA development.
Method: Peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) from patients with RA, THP-1 cells, and bone marrow-derived macrophages from conditional PFKFB3-knockout mice were used to investigate the mechanism underlying PFKFB3-induced macrophage regulation of RA.

Background: The current study investigated the effects of high-fat diet on acute response to 3,4-methylenedioxypyrovalerone (MDPV) in mice. MDPV is a beta-cathinone derivative endowed with psychostimulant activity. Similarly to recreational substances, consumption of palatable food stimulates the mesolimbic dopaminergic system, resulting in neuroadaptive changes.

Unlabelled: Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), a chronic gastrointestinal disorder, often emerges during childhood and poses significant challenges due to its adverse effects on growth, development, and psychosocial well-being. Circular RNAs (circRNAs) have been implicated in the pathogenesis of diverse diseases. However, the specific biological role and mechanisms of circRNA OMA1 in children with IBD remain largely unexplored.

Background: Neuropathic pain (NP) is a prevalent chronic condition frequently accompanied by adverse emotional states. Previous research has demonstrated the clinical efficacy of electroacupuncture (EA) in mitigating neuropathic pain and its associated mood disorders. Recent studies have underscored a correlation between gut microbiota and both NP and negative emotional states.
