Using a microscopic model, the temperature dependence of two phonon modes, ω0 = 32 cm and 72 cm, and their damping of the ferroelastic LiCsSO compound, are calculated within Green's function technique. It is observed that the first mode increases whereas the second one decreases with increasing temperature . This different behavior is explained with different sign of the anharmonic spin-phonon interaction constant. At the ferroelastic phase transition temperature TC, there is a kink in both modes due to the spin-phonon interaction. The phonon damping increases with , and again shows an anomaly at TC. The contributions of the spin-phonon and phonon-phonon interactions are discussed. TC is reduced by decreasing the nanoparticle size, and can be enhanced by doping with K, Rb and NH ions at the Cs site. TC decreases by doping with Na, K or Rb on the Li site. The specific heat Cp also shows a kink at TC. Cp decreases with decreasing nanoparticle size and the peak disappears, whereas Cp increases with increasing K ion doping concentration.

Genetic factors are effective reagents in susceptibility to multiple sclerosis (MS). Previous studies have shown the relationship between heat shock protein (HSP) gene polymorphisms. So, HSP70 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) were evaluated as MS risk factors.

Background: Although F-prostate-specific membrane antigen-1007 (F-PSMA-1007) positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) and multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging (mpMRI) are good predictors of prostate cancer (PCa) prognosis, their combined ability to predict prostate-specific antigen (PSA) persistence has not been thoroughly evaluated. In this study, we assessed whether clinical, mpMRI, and F-PSMA-1007 PET/CT characteristics could predict PSA persistence in patients with PCa treated with radical prostatectomy (RP).
Methods: This retrospective study involved consecutive patients diagnosed with PCa who underwent both preoperative mpMRI and PSMA PET/CT scans between April 2019 and June 2022.

is a highly polyphagous pest that causes substantial agricultural damage. Temperature and insecticides are two major abiotic stresses affecting their population abundance. Heat shock proteins play an essential role in cell protection when insects are exposed to environmental stresses.

Background: The Los Angeles 2028 Olympics will mark the debut of squash, a high-intensity sport characterized by repeated efforts, posing potential thermoregulatory challenges. The demanding nature of squash results in substantial metabolic heat production, with consequential heat strain exacerbated by the indoor environment of squash courts, where low to moderate evaporative potential limits effective cooling. Players often experience increased body-heat storage and thermal strain, with muscle cramps (an early warning sign of more severe heat-related illnesses) commonly observed during tournaments.

OsMAIL1 encodes for a rice protein of the Plant Mobile Domain (PMD) family and is strongly upregulated during floral induction in response to the presence of the florigens Heading date 3a (Hd3a) and RICE FLOWERING LOCUS T1 (RFT1). Although OsMAIL1 expression depends on the florigens, osmail1 null mutants do not show delay in flowering time, rather OsMAIL1 participates in ensuring successful reproduction. Indeed, when day temperatures reach 35 °C (7 °C higher than standard greenhouse conditions), osmail1 mutants show increased sterility due to abnormal pistil development with about half of the plants developing three styles topped by stigmas.
