A Taxonomic Revision of the Genus Dejean, 1821 (Coleoptera, Curculionidae), with Descriptions of 13 New Species.

The genus Dejean, 1821 is herein revised for the first time. Based on adult morphological characteristics, 18 species are recognized as valid. Thirteen species, all distributed in the Eastern Palaearctis or Oriental region, are described as new: sp. n.; sp. n.; sp. n.; sp. n.; sp. n.; sp. n.; sp. n.; sp. n.; sp. n.; sp. n.; sp. n.; sp. n.; and sp. n. Lectotypes of following two valid species and three synonyms were designated: Fabricius, 1792; Herbst, 1795; Germar, 1821; Marsham, 1802; and Stephens, 1831. Neotypes of Rossi, 1792 and Stephens, 1832 were designated. The following new synonyms of (Herbst, 1795) were established: var. Stephens, 1831 syn. n. and var. Stephens, 1831 syn. n.
