Urinary exosome metabolite analysis has demonstrated notable advantages in uncovering disease status, yet its potential in decoding the intricacies of clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) remains untapped. To address this, a core-shell magnetic titanium organic framework was designed to capture urinary exosomes and assist laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry (LDI MS) to decipher the exosomal metabolic profile of ccRCC, with high sensitivity, throughput, and speed. A total of 492 urinary exosome metabolite fingerprints (UEMFs) from 176 samples were extracted for exploring the differences between ccRCC and healthy individuals.

Extracellular vesicles, or exosomes, are produced by every type of cell and contain metabolites, proteins, lipids, and nucleic acids. Their role in health and disease is to influence different aspects of cell biology and to act as intermediaries between cells. Follicular fluid exosomes or extracellular vesicles (FF-EVs) secreted by ovarian granulosa cells are critical mediators of ovary growth and maturation.

Cutaneous squamomelanocytic tumor (SMT) is a very rare cutaneous malignancy, composed of a dual phenotypic population of both malignant melanocytes and keratinocytes, intimately intermingled together. Herein, we report a new case of a SMT occurring in an 82-year-old man, located on the scalp. Histopathology revealed a mixed population consisting of squamous cell carcinoma and melanoma within the same lesion, also confirmed using immunohistochemical staining for high molecular-weight cytokeratins (HMWCKs) and Melan-A.

Vitamin K is essential to produce functional vitamin K-dependent coagulation factors (prothrombin, factors VII, IX, and X). Vitamin K antagonists inhibit the normal activation of these factors, leading to bleeding manifestations of variable severity. Long-acting vitamin K antagonists or superwarfarins were developed as rodenticides and have a significantly longer half-life and greater potency when compared to warfarin.
