Background: Age-related changes in physiological parameters are crucial in understanding the health and performance of working dogs, particularly those in demanding roles such as military and law enforcement. However, limited research exists on how aging affects the hematological and biochemical health of these dogs.
Aim: This study aims to characterize age-related variations in hematological and biochemical parameters in working Belgian Shepherd dogs to provide insights that could inform health management strategies for these animals.

Introduction: The global climatic changes pose a substantial threat to the well-being and productivity of both humans and animals.
Methods: This study examined the impact of climate changes during different seasons over a 3-year monitoring period (2021-2023) on various blood parameters including, white blood cells (WBC), neutrophils, basophils, eosinophils, lymphocytes, and monocytes, hematocrit (HCT), hemoglobin (HGB), red blood cells (RBC), platelets (PLT), mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration (MCHC), mean corpuscular volume (MCV), and mean corpuscular hemoglobin (MCH). The study focused on 25 Thoroughbred mares located in Kastamonu-Türkiye.

Platelets are essential for blood clotting and maintaining normal hemostasis. In pathological conditions, platelets are increasingly recognized as crucial regulatory factors in various immune-mediated inflammatory diseases. Resting platelets are induced by various factors such as immune complexes through Fc receptors, platelet-targeting autoantibodies and other platelet-activating stimuli.

Study Objectives: The complete blood count (CBC) is one of the most commonly ordered blood tests with a large range of reference values that does not consider time of day for interpretation. Our objective was to systematically review this topic to report on peak and trough timing of CBC values.
Methods: A systematic search was performed for studies evaluating any component of the CBC with at least three collections over 24 hours.

White blood cell (WBC) subtypes reflect immune and inflammatory conditions in patients. This study aimed to examine the association between the ratio of platelets to WBC subtypes and mortality outcomes in patients with moderate-to-severe traumatic brain injury (TBI). The Trauma Registry System of the hospital was retrospectively reviewed to gather medical records of 2397 adult patients who were hospitalized from 2009 to 2020 and had moderate-to-severe TBI with a head abbreviated injury scale (AIS) score of 3 or higher.
