Purpose: To determine the factors cross-sectionally and longitudinally associated with retinal vessel diameter, total area, and tortuosity in the Canadian Longitudinal Study on Aging (CLSA).

Methods: Of the 30,097 adults between ages 45 and 85 years old in the CLSA Comprehensive Cohort, 26,076 had at least one retinal image gradable by QUARTZ, a deep-learning algorithm that automatically assessed image quality, distinguished between arterioles and venules, and estimated retinal vessel traits over the entire retina. Questions were asked about demographic, lifestyle, and medical factors.

Purpose: To determine the prevalence of retinal vascular anomalies in the general population in Germany and to analyse potential associations with ocular and systemic factors.

Methods: The Gutenberg Health Study is a population-based cohort study, including 15,010 participants aged 35-74 years. We performed fundus photographs of the macula and the optic disc.

Background: To establish an objective method for assessing plus disease severity in retinopathy of prematurity.

Methods: Six images of plus diseases that were color-coded according to severity and published in the International Classification of Retinopathy of Prematurity, Third Edition (ICROP3) were analyzed. These images were individually processed, and the best-fit curve and vessel course in zone I were obtained using ImageJ software.

Local hemodynamics play an essential role in the initiation and progression of coronary artery disease. While vascular geometry alters local hemodynamics, the relationship between vascular structure and hemodynamics is poorly understood. Previous computational fluid dynamics (CFD) studies have explored how anatomy influences plaque-promoting hemodynamics.

A 73-year-old male with a history of incidentally diagnosed Paget disease of bone affecting the skull and left orbit 2 years prior presented with 3 months of vision loss, proptosis, and periorbital swelling of the OS. Examination showed best-corrected Snellen visual acuity of 20/150 in the affected eye, intact motility, 7 mm of relative proptosis, significant dilated and tortuous "corkscrew" conjunctival vessels, serous choroidal and retinal detachments, optic nerve hyperemia, and venous tortuosity and dilation. Although the bony lesions in the left orbit were stable from 1 year prior on imaging, the diagnostic angiogram demonstrated osseous blush and hypervascularity of the lesion.
