Paediatric critical care units are designed for children at a vulnerable stage of development, yet the evidence base for practice and policy in paediatric critical care remains scarce. In this Health Policy, we present a roadmap providing strategic guidance for international paediatric critical care trials. We convened a multidisciplinary group of 32 paediatric critical care experts from six continents representing paediatric critical care research networks and groups.

Objective: To analyze factors associated with detectable HIV viremia among transgender women/transvestites (TWT) in five Brazilian capitals.
Methods: : This was a cross-sectional study using data from a sample of TWT with HIV-positive serology and detectable viral load (VL), between 2019 and 2021. The dependent and independent variables were, respectively: viral load measurement, socioeconomic/demographic characteristics; alcohol/drug use; and self-perceived mental health.

The Yellow Fever virus (YFV) wild-type strains studied until now have little or no ability to evade the Syrian hamster interferon antiviral response. Thus, evaluating the susceptibility of this model to new YFV isolates is paramount to aid in the understanding of their viscerotropic phenotype. To this end, Syrian hamsters were inoculated intraperitoneally with two Brazilian wild-type YFV isolates originated from dying or dead howler monkeys obtained during outbreaks in the states of Rio Grande do Sul in 2008 (PR4408) and Rio de Janeiro in 2019 (RJ155).

The psychoactive decoction Ayahuasca (AYA) used for therapeutic and religious purposes by indigenous groups and peoples from Amazonian regions produces anti-inflammatory and neuroprotective effects. Thus, it may be useful to attenuate the neuroinflammation and related anxiety- and depressive-like symptoms elicited by inflammatory insults such as sepsis. Rats were pretreated for 3 days with different doses of AYA.
