High-resolution digital elevation models are commonly utilized for detecting and classifying landslides. In this study, we aim to refine landslide detection and classification by analyzing the geometry of landslides using slope and aspect, coupled with descriptive statistics up to the fourth central moment (kurtosis). Employing the Monte Carlo method for creating terrain topography probability distributions and ANOVA tests for statistical validation, we analyzed 364 landslides in Gorce National Park, Poland, revealing significant kurtosis differences across landslide types and lithologies. This methodology offers a novel approach to landslide classification based on surface geometry, with implications for enhancing scientific research and improving landslide risk management strategies.

Imaging the entire cardiomyocyte network in entire small animal hearts at single cell resolution is a formidable challenge. Optical microscopy provides sufficient contrast and resolution in 2d, however fails to deliver non-destructive 3d reconstructions with isotropic resolution. It requires several invasive preparation steps, which introduce structural artefacts, namely dehydration, physical slicing and staining, or for the case of light sheet microscopy also clearing of the tissue.

Objective: This study aims to analyze anatomical parameters of the transmission route of sigmoid sinus tinnitus (SST) to explore its mechanism and speculate on possible responsible anatomical abnormalities.
Methods: Clinical data were retrospectively collected from SST and sigmoid sinus wall dehiscence (SSWD) patients suggested by temporal bone high resolution computed tomography (HRCT), with and without tinnitus, at the First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University from January 2015 to August 2022. Patients were divided into SSWD tinnitus ( = 61), and non-tinnitus ( = 60) groups based on HRCT features.

Oral cancer detection is based on biopsy histopathology, however with digital microscopy imaging technology there is real potential for rapid multi-site imaging and simultaneous diagnostic analysis. Fifty-nine patients with oral mucosal abnormalities were imaged in vivo with a confocal laser endomicroscope using the contrast agents acriflavine and fluorescein for the detection of oral epithelial dysplasia and oral cancer. To analyse the 9168 images frames obtained, three tandem applied pre-trained Inception-V3 convolutional neural network (CNN) models were developed using transfer learning in the PyTorch framework.

Introduction: Persistent lung abnormalities following COVID-19 infection are common. Similar parenchymal changes are observed in idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). We investigated whether common genetic risk factors in IPF are associated with developing lung parenchymal abnormalities following severe COVID-19 disease.
