Silver diamine fluoride (SDF) and atraumatic restorative treatment (ART) are treatment modalities that are minimally invasive and used for the prevention and control of dental caries. The amalgamation of these two techniques has led to the development of silver modified atraumatic restorative treatment (SMART). In this approach the carious lesion is restored with glass-ionomer cement (GIC) after SDF application. SMART effectively arrests caries without removing additional tooth structure, making it a promising option for caries management in children who lack cooperative ability. This article reviews the literature on SMART, the evidence regarding its applications in dental practice, its advantages, drawbacks, the scope for research, and clinical use.

Background: Cochlear implants have helped over one million individuals restore functional hearing globally, but their clinical utility in suppressing tinnitus has not been firmly established.
Methods: In a decade-long study, we examined longitudinal effects of cochlear implants on tinnitus in 323 post-lingually deafened individuals including 211 with pre-existing tinnitus and 112 without tinnitus. The primary endpoints were tinnitus loudness and tinnitus handicap inventory.

Introduction: Chemo-mechanical caries removal (CMCR) offers an alternative to conventional drilling for carious dentin removal, but limited evidence exists on its long-term effects on treating caries in primary teeth. The primary aims of this study were to compare CMCR to drilling in terms of restoration status and the presence of secondary caries after 24 months.
Methods: A randomized, parallel-group, single-blinded, controlled trial was conducted in Thailand.

Objectives: This clinical trial investigated the effectiveness of three minimal intervention dentistry protocols in arresting dentin caries in primary molars of preschool children. Treatment time, anxiety in children, adverse events, and parents' esthetic perception were all assessed.
Materials And Methods: One hundred thirty-five 3-5-year-old children with active dentin caries lesions on the occlusal surface of primary molars were randomly allocated to the control group receiving atraumatic restorative treatment (ART) and two test groups receiving 38% silver diamine fluoride (SDF) or ultraconservative treatment (UCT).

This case report features a female patient with the chief complaint of needing to replace an anterior crown. After a comprehensive oral assessment and cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) radiographic examination, it was determined that the crown on Tooth #9 was subgingivally fractured. The procedure involved atraumatic extraction of Tooth #9, followed by immediate implant placement.

Objectives: This case report describes the clinical protocols for the removal of crowns, tooth extraction, immediate implant placement, and cementation of new crowns, all performed under total or partial isolation with a dental dam.
Clinical Considerations: The patient's chief complaint was dissatisfaction with her smile. Radiographic and clinical evaluations led to the recommendation to replace the porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns on the maxillary central and lateral incisors with all-ceramic crowns.
