Local in Time Conservative Binary Dynamics at Fourth Post-Minkowskian Order.

Leveraging scattering information to describe binary systems in generic orbits requires identifying local and nonlocal in time tail effects. We report here the derivation of the universal (nonspinning) local in time conservative dynamics at fourth post-Minkowskian order, i.e., O(G^{4}). This is achtieved by computing the nonlocal-in-time contribution to the deflection angle, and removing it from the full conservative value in [C. Dlapa et al., Phys. Rev. Lett. 128, 161104 (2022).PRLTAO0031-900710.1103/PhysRevLett.128.161104; C. Dlapa et al., Phys. Rev. Lett. 130, 101401 (2023).PRLTAO0031-900710.1103/PhysRevLett.130.101401]. Unlike the total result, the integration problem involves two scales-velocity and mass ratio-and features multiple polylogarithms, complete elliptic and iterated elliptic integrals, notably in the mass ratio. We reconstruct the local radial action, center-of-mass momentum and Hamiltonian, as well as the exact logarithmic-dependent part(s), all valid for generic orbits. We incorporate the remaining nonlocal terms for ellipticlike motion to sixth post-Newtonian order. The combined Hamiltonian is in perfect agreement in the overlap with the post-Newtonian state of the art. The results presented here provide the most accurate description of gravitationally bound binaries harnessing scattering data to date, readily applicable to waveform modeling.

Purpose: During endovascular revascularization interventions for peripheral arterial disease, the standard modality of X-ray fluoroscopy (XRF) used for image guidance is limited in visualizing distal segments of infrapopliteal vessels. To enhance visualization of arteries, an image registration technique was developed to align pre-acquired computed tomography (CT) angiography images and to create fusion images highlighting arteries of interest.

Methods: X-ray image metadata capturing the position of the X-ray gantry initializes a multiscale iterative optimization process, which uses a local-variance masked normalized cross-correlation loss to rigidly align a digitally reconstructed radiograph (DRR) of the CT dataset with the target X-ray, using the edges of the fibula and tibia as the basis for alignment.

Adaptive deep brain stimulation (DBS) provides individualized therapy for people with Parkinson's disease (PWP) by adjusting the stimulation in real-time using neural signals that reflect their motor state. Current algorithms, however, utilize condensed and manually selected neural features which may result in a less robust and biased therapy. It is well known that the sedimentary rock record is both incomplete and biased by spatially highly variable rates of sedimentation. Without absolute age constraints of sufficient resolution, the temporal correlation of spatially disjunct records is therefore problematic and uncertain, but these effects have rarely been analysed quantitatively using signal processing methods. Here we use a computational process model to illustrate and analyse how spatial and temporal geochemical records can be biased by the inherent, heterogenous processes of marine sedimentation and preservation.

Background: Prevention of iron deficiency in suckling piglets by intramuscular injection of a standardized amount of iron dextran or gleptoferron in the first days of life can lead to over- or underdosage with respective health risks. Currently, combined iron products containing an active substance against coccidia are also used on farms. When using a combination product targeting two diseases, an adjustment of the necessary amount of iron to prevent anaemia in the frame of a farm-specific treatment protocol is not possible.
